Sorry to bring this thread up again but I've searched and searched. Currently in the middle of a build and have the STD size Ross Racing pistons. Skirt clearance is good and in spec but the crown clearance looks to be almost 1mm in the bore.. Is this normal?
Better to be safe and not piss anyone off lol..
Newest update of vcm and all updated drivers on the mpvi dongle did the job without a single error, just the typical lights on the dash flashing while reading/writing
The tune is good, I've just been comparing it to a stock tune file that JET posted on the hpt forum. I can send you a copy for a second opinion if you like
Thanks I've been reading alot on the hpt forums.. From what I've read there only seems to be a problem with hpt writing over efi-live tunes but that could have since been fixed with the new update.. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the US guys writing directly over SCT tunes but still very hard to get a 100% answer about the aus fords
Myself and the tuner want to use hpt.. My tuner said he has heard of people writing over an sct tune with hpt but doesn't want to risk bricking the ecu
Previously tuned at Real Dyno about 12 months ago.. I'm just getting mixed responses from various tuners.. Some say I must take it to ford to get a stock tune flashed onto it then towed to their workshop and others have said hpt can write over the sct tunes
Nope that's the thing. Car is currently tuned to 397rwkw and I can't get in contact with the guy to get the X4. Was supposed to go on the dyno this week but isn't looking good
I bought my fg turbo ute already tuned with sct but for some reason the previous owner kept the X4 even though it's of no use to him.
I've got a brand new blank one here and also just ordered the HPT package.
Some people are saying I can and some are saying I can't write over the sct tune with hpt.. What's the best option???
