  1. Hi Ralph...I'll try plugs tomorrow as still on day shift today..if it's not that then I'll happily for your flight back to k town...lol I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  2. Thanks 4321... yeah checked all piping 3 times over....I'm now lead to believe that plugs are done..there is a miss I noticed when I pulled up after test run yesterday, sitting stationary between 3 and 4000 rpm... I'm actually very hard of hearing so motor has probably been slowly missing not enough to notice whilst driving but if had good hearing may have picked up in advance...I like the inner tube trick but...currently don't have a big aresnal of tools till the I get back to Brisbane..good for future reference but. 3. Lol..nah fishing for fault lol I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  4. Lol...yeah worked out actuator arm...can't here air bypassing a any gaskets... I'll just keep fishing lol I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  5. Cheers puff...yeah took all heat shields off and checked all the bolts...the exhaust manifold ones were loose but ultimately not the culprit... I'll inspect actuating arm a bit better..should you be able to move it manually? If not that that then must be piping or IC hole...going to be a long night. 6. Turbo is spinning fine...no drag/ resistance at all...I'm going bald at fast rate of knots here. I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  7. Hey mate...was thinking that...went to do it this morning but working 12 hour shifts and had to head off early...essentially I'm guessing if any resistance then turbo is on the fritz?..I did have piping off other day and just checked for any shaft play and wasn't any but didn't think to try and spin impeller at that point...blind optimism. 8. I don't think it is...checked all the piping and also exhaust manifold bolts...just spotted oil down side of turbo and bad smell...think turbo has packed it in...I purchased extended warranty when I got it...hopefully they come to the party find out monday. 9. I posted a query a few days ago with reference to driving my fg xr6t with hi flow cat and no tune from Karratha to Brisbane... Turns out catalytic converter is fine and not blocked, so no need to purchase hi flow just yet... I have put new fuel filter in, checked all the piping, done the wd40 trick with turbo solenoid, air filter brand new, the car isn't breaking down or missing so not inclined to think it's plugs or coil pack just doesn't have any initial kick from boost....It will make power eventually but like it's just naturally aspirated.... I also ran scan but the numbers don't mean much to me as still learning as I go...see below pics and if anything stands out please let me know u may have doubled up as 1st screens hot think revs may have been down a vit...at my witts end..thank you in advance I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  10. Hi Breezy..thought I may have been in luck as exhaust manifold bolts were loose as puffwagon suggested but still down on power... [emoji22] I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  11. Lol...OK sort of makes sense...I don't have the self control to stay off boost also... gives me time to get all the hardware I want and then get a tune. I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  12. I was going the top way too, through NT...open speed limits I think through certain parts... I guess the mods have started early than I expected. I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  13. Doesn't really make a big difference if I get hiflow here or Brisbane as still reluctant to want to tune just for a cat replacement...also figure likely to get better economy driving back with hiflow cat as turbo working properly. I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk
  14. Thanks puff wagon..as stated I'm in karratha and no ford dealer up here but another agent that can source parts..thought should just go standard for drive back as maybe a couple of hundred... Ford cat converter he quoted $1600... WTF.. I clarified for half a meter of exhaust.... OK happy to go after market hi flow... thanks mate.
  15. Hi anyone...first time posting here. I've got an FG xr6t with 150k on clock..I've had it for about 2 months now and feel it's down on power..I could be getting use to it but doesn't punch you back in seat as I remember...I've checked all intake piping and no leaks and also down the wd40 trick on turbo boost solenoid...I'm left thinking the catalytic converter has blocked up...I've been able to source a high flow one and plan to install but I am due to drive from karratha back to Brisbane a day or to after the hiflow cat has arrived. What are the likely consequences that I drive car without a tune from karratha to Brisbane about 5000km with hiflow cat in place?Ideally I would like to also do further modifications to the car before I had to pony up dollars for a tune as I plan on doing intercooler, boost and injector upgrades.
