Hi guys. Mechanic found out the issue! The BEM wasn't recognising my key, so it needed to be re programmed. Car starts now. Thanks for for all your help/advice

Nah my mechanic didn't use the scan tool. yeah I've done some research . A lot of people have also said it could be the BEM or ignition barrel. I'll get them both looked at and see how I go. Thanks man I appreciate it !

Oh you reckon? Yeah I have a friend who's an auto electrician. I'll try to get him to have a look at it. Nah I haven't had a scan tool on it. What does that do ?

Thanks but I already tried that and still nothing. I tested the starter motor on its own and the engine cranks but doesn't start. But nothing through the ignition/key

Yeah everything else still works in the car. Just doesn't want to crank when I turn the key to start it.

Hi all. If anyone can help me with this problem I'd really appreciate it! recently bought a XR6 turbo BA 2004 It's a manual. drove it like normal everything was fine till one morning tried to start it and nothing. It's not even trying to turn over. Literally nothing. Battery has been checked and is fine. Starter motor is fine. Fuses are fine. I'm thinking it could be something electrical but I'm not sure. My mechanic has looked at it and tried/tested things and still no luck. Tested the ignition barrel only the part where you put the key in. Works fine. could it be anything else?? If anyone knows or has had this issue before, I'd appreciate some advice thank you
