  1. Hey sorry for the late reply (I just realised that I haven't been receiving notifications). When my car spooled up the sound of the spool would fluctuate up and down. In gears 3 4 and 5 it would also tend to overboost. My tuner said that the ECU was the cause as all other parts of the system were working fine. I installed an electronic boost controller and the issue has gone now and everything working as normal.
  2. Thanks for your response guys. The issue ended up being with the module of the ECU that controls the boost. I replaced the solenoid and the issue was still present. The tuner also pressure tested the turbo and all was fine. I installed an electronic boost controller and it feels perfect now. Plus I have added adjustment. I would definitely recommend a boost controller even to those who don't have an issue with their boost!
  3. I can only go off the receipts I have from the previous owner as he had them installed by Autotech. The receipt says 62lb.
  4. It's really important to let these engines breathe, so investing in a good brand cooler is important! The throttle relo made a big difference also.

  6. Hey all, just an update. The car is still running strong and the T5z box is holding up surprisingly. Keith, this issue was there prior to the tune and it is actually related to the Torque management system. Ended up being the throttle body opening and closing slightly in gears 3 4 and 5 at higher revs. Mate I absolutely agree that it's at your own risk. At the end of the day if things go wrong I'll be buying a built motor and throwing that in it.
  7. If you look around you can get a good deal on the intercooler. I recently purchased and fitted the 1000hp Plaz cooler and process west throttle relo for $1200 second hand. By changing these things alone, the tuner was able to get an extra 50rwkw out of it. Sounds like a load of baloney but its true. I had an old rapid systems intercooler before which had smaller intercooler piping.

  10. Joe is the best with these cars. He would not give me a tune that was not drivable. I will let you know if anything goes bang though and be sure to update everyone when the box has had enough!
  11. Yea I dont hear of t5s handling much power above 300. The box handled 310 for a while quite well though. I'm interested to see how long it'll last until the t56 goes in.

  13. If the car has been tuned, the injector file may need adjusting. This solved this issue in my car.
  14. The bottom end has not been upgraded. Although I'll definitely be upgrading the oil pump gears next.
