  1. Cheers but the exhaust is a ruffy that will be replaced with a new one and it's still getting sorted out with everything for I haven't even started it as yet. Worked away for 6 months, car was at ex gf and had to be moved quickly. The final result will be a lot better in finish and mounting as well. Thanks for your feedback though, much appreciated.[emoji106]
  2. Hi Jet, It's just something to keep me occupied while I was in Covid lockdown for the government decided in their infinite wisdom to suspend my licence for 10 months for not paying tolls which are wrong in the first place so I decided to do it. It's 2 X 3576 Garrett's rear mounted in the boot for it was easier to do so and not worry about water, dust and the like stuffing them up. I have a 3ltr oil tank with cooler and thermo as pictured with a scavenger pump and a Bosch 44 pressure pump intake basically but I have to sort a tune out via HP Tuners software to get it running. I have the credits but never tuned before and I wouldn't mind some help or Answer my questions regarding the tune. It took me roughly 12 months to complete to this level with Centrelink and some pokie wins to fund the build. Motor is a stock BA XR8 260 with 1000cc injectors, 2 bar map sensor and 460 pump. Hear is some more photos and car is in Brisbane. The exhaust sits too low and I'm looking for a twin system from the flanges back of the extractors to the rear so I can go over the diff hopefully in 2 inch to increase air flow so the cops don't pester me lol and a BF GT front bar
  3. I've always put an external cooler on all of my ba - fg falcons with flexible telfon coated high pressure lines and never had a drama, I've got mine from eBay and always been good and I have 2 in use now, one for my BTR and the other for my remote twin turbo oil cooler in the boot of my BA XR8 and both have thermo fans running as well. Hope this helps
  4. I've got 20 x 8.5 front and rear with 38 offset and 245's all round at the moment but I'm awaiting my other 20 x 10 with same 38 offset with 275 30 20 tyres as they came off my AU and all I have to do is to remove the lip on the upper spring cup as it's 15mm. I have trialed the mag and tyre I have and it fits and clears just Hope this helps Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
  5. Unfortunately all the good ones are not up for sale as the owners are more than happy or they have been flogged and then prone to break as I was after a BF as well but settled for the BA with 80,000 more kms than the red one and I killed the gearbox in 2 weeks and it took me 3 more weeks and 2 other gearbox's to find the one I have which is brillant found on a wrecked BA only 15000 kms old since rebuild but now I couldn't be happier as mine has a lot of go fast gear on it like T04 turbo bigger cooler and transmission cooler which is a must have on any turboed auto, cheers
  6. I'll be going for option 3 especially with the reco box 1500 and its only got 136000 and I know it's only a 4 speed but it seems the safest option and taking off stickers with a heat gun but not to sure about leaving marks as the red will definitely be darker where the strips are
  7. The only time I've had this problem was when the intake wasn't on properly as it sounds like it or the fuel reg maybe, If you fix it let us know it's interesting
  8. Cheers to everyone for their help and the problem was injectors been too small so I'm running VDO 650CC injectors now and it goes quite well and what a difference now it's time for exhaust upgrade and tune Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
  9. Got new box today so it'll go in tomorrow at home and clutch packs were gone in 3rd and fourth and that was why I could hear a chatter noise as it was trying to select the gears but wasn't able to, cheers Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
  10. Apparently the box was fine before it went in but the mechanic made me source the box as he said it would save me money but know realise that it would save him but he said that the clutch packs in 3rd seemed a bit tired but still usable and shouldn't give me any trouble and other than that it seemed a good gearbox but there is a bit of a chatter type noise in the car and that's the only thing to be not normal Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
  11. Hi All, Another problem I have after putting in a second hand gearbox that after 60 kms it won't select 3rd or 4th gear manually or in drive, no codes come up at all but still changes nicely for 1st and 2nd gears work fine. Mechanic reckons that it maybe a electrical problem but I'm not sure as he got me to wait until the gearbox oil was cool but it's running a new oil cooler now and take it for a drive but made no difference and still no codes and doesn't like to answer my calls so I'm stuck again, has anyone else had this problem and what helped, cheers Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
  12. Car auctions is your best bet Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
  13. Your bloke who done the inspection must of worked at the pits at Dutton park for contaminated brake and clutch fluid is a bit excessive unless the fluid is cream in colour and most of the rest you can source at the wreckers and save at least 20% and a few hours of labour by looking at the rear light and seeing why it's not working could be a cut in the wiring or fuse or the light is buggered as auto electricians aren't cheap either but if you have to then go for it but that in itself should save you a few hundred dollars but the bloke is probably hoping you'll go back and get him to do the required work and that's how he makes his money. Overall cost I don't know but at $80 per hour plus parts it will add up real quick Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
  14. I've been looking for a BA XR6T 4 speed auto and its just as expensive to buy a written off example from the auctions but all depends on your needs but the auctions are your best bet and then the rest you can sell on gumtree or ebay.Sent from my SM-N915G using Tapatalk
