  1. This one sounds good lol. I am gonna try a euro crackle tune in it I reckon.
  2. Before I picked the kids up from school, I put null timing into the 30kpa and under part of spark map for my fully hectic VN 5L. Now when I back off the throttle it goes pew pew pew blub blub blub
  3. Yes the gasket will be fine for that power level.
  4. Ay don't blame me, it was like that when I got here
  5. May as well add in some rods and pistons too Haha fixes an oil leak, gets built motor instead
  6. Very minor doms after a few weeks off. Haha the happy brain juices are doing their thing too which makes everything better
  7. Haha yerp like I said it's not a job you can achieve by hand. Sure you can get an area of the deck to that finish but the deck has to be level too which is generally made worse when hand finishing. If you insist on installing a new mls gasket like this then use a fair whack of hylomar at the least. I know the gaskets say to install them dry as they have their own coating, but they also require a certain finish to seal. I wasn't going to mention the other ways of sealing an mls gasket cos it's not how you should do it, but I'd rather see your gasket seal than have you waste your money and time. This is the stuff you can use to seal up a second hand, completely stripped and clean mls gasket with a hand finished iron block. Obviously you can use it with a new gasket too. So yeah it's not recommended but it works so it's not dodgy either, I guess it's somewhere in between. Fwiw the Athena gasket ($120 more than a cometic mls) is composite/steel ring and will seal up against a clean used deck surface. Keep that in mind before you go yanking the bottom end out...haha you shouldn't have pulled the head off either but we're here now.
  8. You can clean the pistons with whatever you want. Don't let the carbon and associated juices into the engine, they are abrasive. You can't prepare anything for an MLS gasket by hand, it has to be machined. They need 20 RA or less to seal properly. I know some folks will slap in a cleaned up second hand MLS gasket absolutely covered with some sealant and say she'll be right and it may well be
  9. That's spot on! I tell myself, don't be a farken pussy, then I just do it anyway. You want the gains you gotta lift them damn weights!
  10. Also high rep squats can get farked. TF for only 3 sets...2 to go lol
  11. It varies but at the 6 to 8 week mark of progressive overload you should be aware of and look for signs that you're accumulating too much fatigue.
  12. Ended up catching the flu so the deload went for a bit longer than planned. Got back into it yesterday with the high rep stuff again and it's going good. Strength is ok, stamina has suffered but will recover in a week or so after a whole bunch of eating. Haha looking forward to see how far I can go before I need to back off again.
  13. Haha yeah not my favourite outcome. Oh well needs to be done if I want to make all the power. So the breakdown was 1450 USD for the part, 180 USD for shipping then the 338 AUD for tax.
  14. Just got bent over by UPS for import tax. What was a 1450 USD part cost just over 2800 AUD by the time it gets to me. I've still got some lube if anyone else wants a turn
  15. How many are stuffed? I've got several engines worth here, so can find a few good ones for you. An option is to buy an FG na engine and just take the cams and rockers out of it.
  16. Not ideal. You're replacing the timing chain guide anyway so it doesn't matter. The roller in the rocker doesn't matter if it's just got lines in it but the cam looks pretty stuffed. If you're doing head studs you'll have the cams out anyway so just fit a new set while you're at it.
  17. Woohoo my transmission part is in Honolulu! The place fixing the head is starting work on it today, so should have it back by the weekend. I suppose I'll have the engine fully assembled on the weekend and could have it in the car on Monday if I wasn't waiting for the trans bit. I was thinking I could put the engine in then, run it in, work on the tune, then pull the trans out and upgrade it before I turn it up. It would be fine to run as it is for a while and I'm gonna give it a few oil changes before I rivet the page up button to the keyboard! Eh we'll see how it all goes, no hurry to get it running. Random bit of info here, my injectors were at 69% to make 704awkw, it'll be interesting to see how much more power it can make with the bigger turbo...haha guess we'll find out soon enough! Nuther random bit of info, I had 2.5inch hotside piping last time which is being upgraded to 3 inch now, while the cold side is already 3 inch. Anyhow there is that, so yerp, will update again when the missus gets sick of hearing about it. #2weeks
  18. The injector would have been flowing some amount of fuel for this to happen. If it was 100% not squirting, the cylinder just goes dead. Fuel delivery is reliant on cam timing being correct, so if your timing guide stud had snapped it might have leaned everything out and this was the cylinder that burnt up first. Anyhow good luck with getting it sorted out.
  19. Heh. About time we had some nice weather.
  20. Me eyeball is twitching so I googled it and this is the ad halfway down the page. Farken yeah nah, you've either got a giant wrinkly ball sack and a foot long magnum dong or you don't. #apacheattackhelicopter
