    Ute For Sedan

I traded a 8 month old XR6 ute for a turbo ute. I only lost about $3500 on the old one so I was pretty pleased with that. I don't know where you live but in Melbourne you can park in any loading zone in a ute. It rocks.
  2. This is true for the AWD. RWD diesel and petrol is rated at 2300kg with the HD bar. All are 6 speed.
  3. What is your motivation for modding the car? I don't mean to have a go at you, but, yoa said she drives it 90% of the time in peak hour trafic, and you also dont drive it that hard. She may never want to drive it again.Sounds like it's her car to me. All that power comes at a cost.Reliability, fuel consumption and driveability may all sufer. I am not aganst modding cars in any way at all.But I would like to know why you want to and what you expext?
  4. No trailer, just heavily loaded. With a fridge, camping gear,20litres of water, bags of clothes, chairs, table, small compressor ect. And it was awsome.Terri did s great job.Did not see any others out there though.Only issue I had was 1 puntchure in the last 15km of dirt.Fixed it on the spot though and never used the spare.I think it is a really good all round/all road touring vehicle. I would also add some under car protection if I was to do it again,as well as the other mods I mentioned earlier. Maybe next time I'll do it in a Turbo Terri.Woo Hoo.
  5. O2 sensor will effect fuel economy. And do require periodic changing.Bosch automotive have a wall chart with the specs on this. From memory the ba is 80,000km. I am a mechanic and just changed my fathers o2 sensor in his vs 5.0 stateman. It only has 90.000km on it and instantly economy improved about 15%. They seem to gradually deteriate. And the recomended service intervalls vary from car to car. Some as low as 40.000km others 150,000km. Also guys, don't forget to clean your throttle boddies. This can improve idle quality, reduce stalling and improve economy as well. Use a product like nulon Carb and throttle body cleaner.Available at repco and bursons. On car injector cleaning is just an upsell.forget it.Just buy a bottle of injector cleaner from repco or bursons again.Nulon again is good. The only way to do it properly is off the car.
  6. What about the Captiva. What a peice of crap.Another deawoo.Or as Expensive Daewoo call it a "world car" pffffffftttt........anyone buy that
  7. I have an AWD Ghia(non turbo). We did a 3 week trip through the NT and outback Qld NSW and SA.Did the loop road from Kings Canyon, birdsville track, strezleki track, walkers crossing, camerons corner ect. Some of these roads are very rough. The terri handled it brilliantly. It was heavily loaded and I did case it out a couple of times doing 110kph on the birdville track. Now the muffler looks a little secondhand.I also did soft sand and very rocky country and could not get it bogged. I know it is not a landcruiser, but it did this sort of traveling well.If I was planning on doing it again I would invest in a set of raised king springs to help with the wieght and ground clearance. I also had a lot of fun on fast sandy roads with the dsc.I would delibretly enter a corner too fast, try and thow it sideways and the dsc would just sort it,and around you go.Awsome. If I was setting 1 up for more of this I would do the springs as mentioned, slightly taller hard terrain tyres (235/65r17) and a bullbar with some spotties.Spotties really not required as the lights are pretty good. Doing the loop road from kings canyon was the first dirt we saw on our trip. This road is fast and smooth. However we woulb be cruising along at 110 or 120 and would hit a big hump in the road and woo hoo......airbourne.This happened 5 or 6 times with the engal hitting the roof. And the terri never bottomed out. However having said all that I would not take it serios off road.Like in the vic high country.Would cover most though.
  8. You won't get premo sound in povo pack.
  9. My territory used more than 2 litres in 10,000km.probably from 2 or 3 full with the cruise set on 150-160kmph in NT.Tha place rox.
  10. I predict there will be no power increase in BF II's. Time will tell.
  11. the REAL reason for the 80 kay sticker is for legal reasons.its the law.law states that a spare of differant size is a temopary use only spare, regardless of size. it is a full size rim and tyre.no saftey issues running at freeway speeds. Service advisers are salesmen, nothing more.make no mistake.they do training in sales not cars. I was told the TUO spare was a thinner lighter rim.not true.there is no such thing. I do believe some au's had space savers though?
  12. Thanks Goldie,I'll go and give it a go.Is the new donk in yet?
  13. That sounds about right from memory. Thanks goldie.Anyone else, just to be sure?
  14. Does anyone know the head bolt torque sequence? As the topic states its for an ed falcon.Six cylinder 4.0.
