  6. Are you interested in joining us on the Snowy Cruise in November slash? k31th is keen. When I last spoke with Rab he was interested as well. I posted up in the NSW cruise section. I just realised that APS gave my car the full on beauty treatment down to my jock straps if you know what I mean - not only was it washed and shined, they blacked out my tyres as well ... the equivalent of a finger nail polish treatment

  8. That's it Puff, the name of the tool they use.
  9. I went to Automotive Performance Specialists (APS) for my servicing (33 New St, Frankston just around the corner from former PitLane which had an auction sign up). They did a fantastic job. Just a major service, but asked to tighten manifold bolts (several were loose so just as well) and changed out brake fluid (as well as the engine oil change). Umm the also went one step better and washed and vacuumed my car So big shout out to Jack Whittley there - willing to have a knowledgeable chat about stuff. Was pretty reasonable as well hip pocket wise, much less than what I expected and what I used to pay at PitLane (which is all I have to compare with). They can maintain an XCAL tune but prefer to tune with other laptop based tool but I forgot the name. Jack was telling me the other tool allows you to select the tunes with the steering wheel paddles and quick as which is pretty convenient when you need to go back to stock because there is no 98 RON nearby. There's also a tune that allows rolling acceleration, something about keeping the revs up until you need them activated by pressing some other re-purposed buttons (don't remember which ones). Rab put me onto them, some nice rides sitting in their yard and in their super clean workshop. Definitely will make the effort to go there again for my services. Nizpro does not do Servicing anymore, they focus more on speed boat motors now.
  10. About time to dust off the turbo cobwebs for our proposed Snowy Cruise later this year over Friday 18 - Sunday 20 November 2022 with add on day Mt Hotham on Monday 21 November 2022 for those interested. Check out past threads for all the fun and good yaks we had Those dates avoid cycling and aircraft events in Tumut and Jindabyne areas on 5 November and 11 November. More details to come but it will be pretty much same route as previous Snowy Cruises. Friday 18 November - Tumut Saturday 19 November - Jindabyne Sunday 20 November (for those interested) - Omeo Accomodation: Friday 18 November - Tumut (book accomodation at Oriental Hotel $95 - right next to pub fully refundable up to day before) (so driving to Tumut from your home on the Friday) Saturday 19 November - Jindabyne (book Alpine Gables $147 - pub on site and half refundable up to 20 Oct) (driving from Tumut to Jindy on the Saturday) Sunday 20 November (for those interested) - Omeo (book Golden Age - pub on-site but will check if they are opened first and find out pricing) (driving from Jindy either home on Sunday or driving to Omeo to stay in Omeo on Sunday night) Monday 21 November (driving from Omeo to home on the Monday) New this cruise is will be up to you to look out for your fellow cruise members - should you test positive or not feel good, please think of your fellow members and do the right thing Cruise list 1. 11. Do you use DSR freaky? Anyone here still use Springy in Springvale? Anyone have a contact for Carby (tried to look them up but can't narrow the search down enough)? Inner South East area would be convenient but not essential. Like there must be some reputable places around Moorabbin?
  12. Nice guys, I will contact Carby and Springy to see if they still service Ford XR6 Turbos. I didn't see this thread in a Forum search but funny how Google seems to be able to pick up the gist of my query. I've started a thread elsewhere on the forum and will update it with my investigations
  13. Would anyone have any recommendations for Ford XR6 Turbo / FPV F6 servicing in the greater Melbourne area? I think with some of the past well-known tuning places in Melbourne turning down servicing nowadays (from my recent ring around) I am happy to extend my search to anywhere in the greater Melbourne area. Thanks
  14. It's been a while, don't even have a phone with my drone app on it's been that long since our last combined states cruise I have a bit on for March to Aug with a 3 major customers, so probably will aim for November for a Snowy's cruise 2022? What do you think for the guys interested?
  15. Just saw this, a cool $1.75M allegedly ... https://www.drive.com.au/news/ford-falcon-gtho-phase-iv-sets-new-price-record-for-an-australian-made-road-car/?utm_campaign=syndication&utm_source=smh.com.au&utm_content=article_1&utm_medium=partner
  16. Just saw that Sydney had over 900 new COVID-19 cases today. Hope you guys get it down soon. As it stands, with the State Government rules in place today, those of us in other States are not allowed to travel into NSW or ACT. Not sure if that will change much later this year. Here's hoping ...
  17. How's this for a nice return on money spent LOL https://www.drive.com.au/news/light-em-up-last-ford-falcon-xr6-turbo-highway-patrol-car-sells-for-record-94500/?utm_campaign=syndication&utm_source=smh.com.au&utm_content=article_1&utm_medium=partner
  18. Just drove around again and it was okay until I did a quick take off from the lights. MIL engine light came on momentarily as engine idled roughly at next lights. But it went out and drove okay after that. Checked DTCs again and saw P0306 and P1000 codes. Probably need to take it in for service after lockdown ends here.
  19. I got this after reading the DTC codes with my XCAL3. P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected. Sounds similar circumstances, gave a bit when taking off and Engine light came on and car was idling rough. I just cleared the DTC code today using my XCAL3 because I read on Internet that with OBD2 compliant cars merely disconnecting the battery may not clear the codes because they are stored somewhere possibly. Not sure. Anyways the MIL Check Engine Light didn't come back up. But I did see a message P1000 OBD Systems Readiness Test Not Complete. Hopefully that's not bad. Here's what I found about P1000 Trouble code P1000 DTC is a manufacturer specific trouble code, most commonly used by Ford, Jaguar, and Mazda. It simply means that the engine control computer (ECC) has not completed its emission systems testing. A vehicle's engine computer must complete multiple self-tests known as Readiness Monitors. What caused my vehicle to trigger a P1000 trouble code? If the ECC has not been able to check all the monitors since the last time the vehicle's battery may have been disconnected or any repairs made which required clearing of trouble codes, the ECC may set a P1000 trouble code How can I fix a P1000 problem and where should I start? In order to clear a P1000 trouble code the vehicle must be driven through a Drive Cycle until all monitors are completed or in ready status.
  20. Just got the same problem today. After foot down take off, engine was idling a bit rough then the engine light would not turn off, stayed hard on. Sounds like it could be an emissions sensor somewhere based on what some others have said above as my F6 is a 2010 and probably that part was due to break down soon or later just due to dirt and stuff clagging up. I will put the XCAL onto it at some stage and check for the error messages if any. Then try the battery disconnect for a period of time to see if it goes away. But its due for a general service anyways, so I plan to mention it when I take it in for a service. Any other ideas, I'd welcome hearing them. Thanks.
  21. Nice 👍 Hoping that Sydney recovers well soon as they are in hard lockdown now which makes NSW a red zone for VICs.
  22. Are there others potentially interested in this cruise? I know it's a bit unpredictable. Covid-19 restrictions may make it difficult to get over the border later in the year but hopefully a larger proportion of our population will have received vaccinations by then.
  23. Yep Rab, the "usual suspects". Even though they had hoodies/beanies and COVID masks on, they didn't cover their faces completely.
  24. Nice Updated Cruise List for November 1. EvilDaifu 2. k31th 3. El Andrew 4. Rab Maybe 1. civillian Oh, a group of about 4-5 teenagers attempted to steal my FPV F6 early this morning. One of them chased me around my front yard this morning demanding my car keys when I was outside in the drive-way. Then 2 chased me down the street as I didn't want to open my house door justin case they would barge into my home. They drove off in a stolen car the Police later told me.
