  1. Okay, just checked and we didnt use the old actuator, will put it back on over the weekend and let you guys know how it goes. Thanks a lot for the help!
  2. Hi guys, looking for some help with this issue. Recently replaced my turbo with another stock turbo, and now when the revs increase under boost the turbo kicks in but then it just cuts out and I get nothing at all for a few seconds and then can drive the car as normal but not under boost. Not sure if it's a fuel related issue or something to do with tuning/ the turbo? Also replaced spark plugs not long ago. If anyone has had a similar problem would be good to know what their cause/ fix was! Thanks
  3. Thanks very much for the info, cheers
  4. Hey guys got a blown turbo in my ba mk2. Just wondering which is a good replacement turbo/ cost. Just wanting to replace it then im moving the car on, cheers
  5. Ok so I've done a ring around. Here are the basics I've been told. Workshop one: au planetary gears (cryogenically frozen) au pump, strengthened drive plate, high energy bands, new valve bodies, Extra clutches. Rated to 350-400 rwkw. $3200 drive in drive out, add $800 for 2800 rpm high stall converter and add $500 for trans cooler set up. Also very helpful bloke on the phone, happy to explain everything in depth. Workshop two: 2500 r hi stall, High energy clutches and bands, Rolarised, furnace braced Torque converter, Deep sump, billot converter, Trans cooler. Rated for 300-350 kw. $3500. $2800 for 260 - 280 kw rated (cooler included) or standard rebuild with no trans cooler $2200 Workshop 3: bloke held back on details, thought I was trying to steal information off him by the sounds of it. Informed him he wouldn't be getting my business for being an outright a***hole on the phone. Rebuild was $2000 plus 500 for hi stall (didn't say what rating) plus 350 for trans cooler installed at front wheel arch. Used custom build, 91LE planetaries. Valve body, servo. Wouldn't say expected output or any other details of the build.
  6. So it turns out I'm gonna need to rebuild or upgrade the trans. Anyone able to point me in the right direction in regards to upgrading? Ideally it's just a daily driver, but I wouldn't mind a little more power, with the specs listed above. Seems like Bayswater Automatics do a good job after reading through the threads here...
  7. Thanks for the help guys. Got under it and it found it needs a new rear trans seal. Will update once we replace it, hopefully that's the only issue. From the sounds of it these Btr 4 spds aren't too strong, will have to look into upgrading it. I'm looking to put an exhaust all the way through, and intercooler kit n pipes on, then get it tuned. Leo I'm in Vic mate. cheers
  8. Hey guys, Have just purchased a ba mk2 xr6t so thought I'd join up here. I'm pretty much completely new to the scene, but have learnt a lot from browsing the forums here so far. I bought a little over a month ago, has 65k kms on the clock, and is pretty much stock 4 sp auto. Only mods is a growler CAI Found that after giving it some gas, I'd be taking off and occasionally the gears wouldn't catch, the revs would go real high, then eventually it would catch and it seemed ok. Till the other day the same thing happened but this time it wouldn't fall into gear, so now just waiting to see what the result is, thinking I'm probably gonna need a new transmission. The gearbox oil had leaked out all over the road, and was still coming out as I was getting towed, got it sitting in the garage waiting for a mate to come jack it up and take a proper look. Wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen, and if I have to replace/ upgrade the trans what I should look at doing? Any help would be appreciated, as I said I'm pretty green here. thanks
