  1. I dont know about their ford tuning capabilities, but they've tuned a few of my mates cars (skylines/silvias/camry/corolla) and the tunes have been fine. but ECC are at Virginia, RDP is only just up the road at Redcliffe. seems like a no brainer to take it to someone like the guys at RDP.
  2. they're designed to have rake, but when you go SSSL in the rear, it removes the rake look. I much prefer the car to look "level" than with the nose in the ground and the ass in the air like a dog on heat. maybe I should clarify on the lag issue. my previous turbo car was a s13 silvia with an rb20det engine and a t04e turbo with a manualised auto gearbox. I wouldn't build boost until about 3000rpm and then it'd hit 15psi in 500rpm. to me, THAT is lag. and frightening on the street! lol. in the xr6, I'm building boost by 2000rpm. so its always feeling like its on boost. whereas, the silvia, it used to feel like I could make a coffee by the time it came on boost. it used to go from nothing to tyre frying in a split second and then would continue to fry through 1st, 2nd and 3rd. completely useless, but fun nontheless. lol anyway, I've attached my dyno graph for the xr6t so you can see how much lag there is/isn't.
  3. lag is unnoticable on street. I do find it slightly annoying in the mountains. I mean, the torque pulls the car around off boost just fine, but to exit a corner on boost, most of the time I slap it back to 1st.......and then wheelspin. LOL at the drags, well, I've never been able to launch on boost. its either off boost, or on boost and frying the tyres on the start line. but I put that down to sh*t tyres. shocks are bilstein and springs are king SSL and SSSL. great combo, imo.
  4. my mrs doesnt like the new wing either. bbbuuuuuutttttttttt, its my car, so her vote doesnt count. lol yeah, they're 9.5" wide with 245 tyres all around. I definitely dont think 265s would fit on the front. hell, with the offset of +35 on the rear, I dont think 265s would fit with the suspension ive got either. I think I've got maybe 2mm to the guard. anything wider on there and I'd scrub with a full load. right now, with a car load of people and bags in the boot, I dont scrub at all. I thought I was just delusional, but I leant my car to a mate for a week and when he gave it back he told me "man, the amount of looks and compliments this car is out of control! How are you not sick of random people talking to you?!" I am. I cant go anywhere without someone stopping me to say something about my car. my mrs always makes me laugh... whenever she sees someone staring at the car, she yells out "take a picture mate!". LOL!!! Lennox: man, I tram line with 245s! would hate to experience 265s! lol
  5. for the sake of closing out this thread. its apparently the intake manifold gasket. getting replaced as I type this. hopefully that will fix things.

I run them on my fg. didnt have any issues with insurance. when I installed them, they came with resistors built in to a wire/plug. from memory it said to install it without and if there was an error message on the dash, then install the resistor plug thingy.   7. would a faulty (blown/blocked?) cat cause these issues? cause its backfiring, popping, crackling, etc, a lot louder these days on over run.
  8. yeah, fully aware of their failures. I had one fail on my old corolla. but we just cut it off and kept skidding. modern cars arent so easy I suppose. lol
