  1. Thanks Geea. I didn't originally realise the 275 would fit onto an 8" rim, but blueboost has given me the heads up, so it looks like the way I'll be heading. Has anyone used "Bottle or Boost" as their prices seem fairly good at $650 delivered: http://www.bottleorboost.com.au/mickeythompson-STREET.htm
  2. Finally it looks like they are available!! http://www.capa.com.au/ford_flash_tuner.htm Data Logger $995: http://www.capa.com.au/ford_flash_tuner_data_logger.pdf XCalibrator 2 $1245: http://www.capa.com.au/ford_flash_tuner_xcal2.pdf Strategy Flash Device $1295: http://www.capa.com.au/ford_flash_tuner_sf_device.pdf
  3. I've had the Goodyear GS-D3 F1s for a while now and found them to be the quietest tyre I've had so far. Good wet tyre and have pulled a 1.8 60' so they fairly good in the dry too. I'd buy em again
  4. The other way at looking at it is that you can pick up an XR6T for almost under $20k. Fantastic bang for buck
  5. Time slip is attached Left lane on Goodyear GS-D3 F1's
  6. Has anyone had many experiences with the Nitto 555R drag tyre? I thought someone had but a search isn't finding it. I'm looking for a something equivalent to MT ET Street but in a size that can fit on either the 17" or 18" Falcon BA rim (ie around 245/45/R17 or 245/40R18) Nitto do a 245/45R17 for around $350 www.vpw.com.au/productgroup.asp?CatID=0&PrdGrpID=2436 MT will have a 245/40R18 out later, but it's looking like next year. I want to keep about the same diameter of 26" rather than going taller & making the crap rear-end ratio even worse. Is there anything else out there, or are the Nitto's worth the bucks?? Thanks
  7. Thanks for the replies quigebo - Sounds good. PM me when you've done the job. If I haven't already picked up a set we might work out a deal. Thanks
  8. These are $$$ before it stuffed & before any reasonable wear or Kms. A guide is around $2000-$2500 for the box, $400-600 for a converter with lock up, $200-300 for cooler and $100 for a upgraded flex plate. Add $200 for delivery if interstate or a bit more for R&R and $200 for a synthetic oil and your done. Basically if it seem cheap it probably is
  9. Has anyone looked into upgrading their BA front brakes for the BF brakes? Is it just calipers, rotors & pads or is the main stub also different? I'm due for rotors & pads so it might make for a cheap upgrade in size (albeit not a huge jump)
  10. About the same age, but she's only just run in at 149,000km
  11. I'd love to have the full software but can't justify the thousands. From memory it was around $6K .... is that still right?

    Afr's

I you're interested in AFR tuning, check out : http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/resources.php Great products & info

    Afr's

Stoichiometric AFR is 14.7:1 which is controlled in closed loop by the factory narrow band O2 sensor. AFR control is in closed loop mode for realistically all normal driving. This is to maintain an economic drive. Max power is made at 12.8:1, but blown & turbo'ed motors often run richer mixtures to help cool the air charge. Same principle as water injection. The extra fuel doesn't burn so it's similar to adding water to the charge, but with a lower latent heat of vapourisation. It is also prudent for tuning shops to add a little fat to the tune to allow for fouling injectors & filters & the pump performance decreasing. If you don't monitor your AFR with your own reliable meter I'd run a bit rich, otherwise keep the intake charge cool, use sensible timing & run the AFRs at mid 12:1

    Brake Pads

I've had Green Stuff on for a while now & they are good pads. If you do a bit of racing try Red Stuff on the fronts but keep Green on the rears as the Reds require some heat for the first bit. The Greens have a higher coeffieient of friction so they'll feel like they've got more bite than the Reds. I seem to get two sets of Green pads for one set of DBA 4000 rotors on the front. I normally get my gear from Slacks Creek Brake & Clutch as they're fairly cheap & local, but if anyone knows of a cheaper suppier, I'm all ears.
  15. I'll second that. I've had their exhaust on for over a year now & I'm more than impressed. Mines a sedan with two mufflers both custom made and HPC coated dump pipe with separate waste gate pipe. The finish is better than the APS exhausts and it's made inhouse (rather than imported). If you have the money, my opinion is buy the exhaust.
