  5. spoolax, are u getting any feedback/cross talk or interference from the power feed being taped together with the output speaker lines? might be worth separating them..
  6. Dude... This might help... Just remember whatever you pick, speakers and audio gear is a personal thing - just like a women, what you might like to listen to (nagging in the case of a women) your mates may not... Go into some good audio stores and take a cd of your own in, spend some time taking a listen and see how you go from there.. . Brands/Buying hardware - When considering equipment, the below is a list of some brands you may wish to check out: (complete unbiased list – and yes hundreds of brands have been left out).. * Speakers/Subs: + $1500: Focal, MB, Seas, Dynaudio, Morel, McIntosh, a/d/s. $500 - $1500: Alpine, MB, JL Audio, Infinity, a/d/s, Polk, Boston, Dynaudio, DLS, Hertz, Rockford, Eton, Focal, Eclipse, etc. $500 +: Pioneer, Clarion, JL Audio, Alpine, DLS, Nakamichi, Boston, Eclipse . 7. Ok, only 'skimmed' this thread... Few things - difference of opinion. Panda - P/L? why? his talking about being a Sole Trader - why pay 30% tax, if he can run a sole trader structure (in under 80k), just stick to the 10% GST difference. Ma91ck - ABN: http://www.business.gov.au/businesstopics/registrationandlicences/registerfortaxation/pages/registerforanaustralianbusinessnumber(abn).aspx Use the links on the right hand side - first search for 'existing' names that are the same as what you are thinking, or 'like'. Try to steer away from those. Grab yourself the URL (web addy). Get a good mentor. Get a good accountant. Talk to external advisors, ie - BEC offices if you have one in your area. Make sure, or use caution if/where there 'may be' a conflict of interest with your employement. (should you have a full time job or what have you, they may not be happy if you are working in the same industry and they feel there is a conflict - so run it past your boss, might not be a bad idea). SWOT - not sure what that means... google it.. Once you are ready - buddy and cuddle up with some good suppliers, and baby sit the connection... remember who helped you get your first gig and deals going... If you need a good accountant, our guy is in Sydney also - can help you with lots of this start up stuff, BAS, etc... but like anyone in business, its not free! So get used to that term also - "everyone is in business for one reason... to make farking money"... This means your suppliers, and... YOU! Tuck under another small business owners wing, and SERIOUS take notice! When you have made some big $$$ - remember, lil ye ol smicky drinks grey goose and belvider vodka!!!
  8. JL, not a bad sub... Would have gone Focal, Morel, or the likes on the other speakers... Not a huge fan of Infinity - but its not too bad... But im sure it will come together well...
  9. Guys... FORGET THE 24 MT CONTRACTS!!! If you can, push to get a 12 month... 24mt is simply tooo long for any product like a phone (if you use it as a tool or trade).. Either buy outright, and then make sure you have something like personal effects insurance that will cover it (part of home & asset insurance). Or if on a plan, pay the extra $10/month or whatever to reduce the time to a 12 months plan... Phone that are USED HARD - simple dont and wont last more than about 14-18 months before u start to throw the bastard!!! lol Most telco's have a 'retention' team now... call them up, get some facts before hand from other carriers, and push for a better offer.. if they dont extend it - pi55 off and go else where anyways...
  10. Oh 5#!7... I forgot to check the battery when I plugged it in this morning.. lol oh well, whatever it was - it did last well last night.. was a full charge before I headed out so handled a night out with Smicky! lmao
  11. SCRUBY - thank god someone got this thread back on topic! See, nothing has changed in my absence with those that get carried away off topic! The size is fine - if anything I actually like it a little more, cos it has a bigger keyboard displayed, less chance of punching the wrong keys! its slim also - so just slips into the back pocket!
  12. Gents - its all good. I know how the batteries work, while im a IT nerd, I have actually studied electronics as well (even if I try to appear like a dumb bum often). The discharge/recharge or recycle upon initial usage has been performed. For anyone with a smart phone you may also wish to look at an app that will clear the memory on the 'handset' which is cached to better manage the power saving function on the handsets. This can also be done via the download menu within the android OS (if the option is enabled - normally requires a cracked bootloader). My concern is that I trash my phones - bluetooth, wifi, FB updates, email, sync, etc all running most of the day. (Obviously turning the BT and Wifi off when not needed)... However between writing sms's to mates, a few calls, FB'ing when out (enough said when Grey Goose and Belvidere is involved lol), and email, the thing when from 60% to near dead in around 2-3 hrs... Just doing a full charge now, before heading out tonight and will give it another spin!!! Let you know how it goes tomorrow I guess...
  13. Of course... Apple is going back to the old days of 'each to their own'... Everyone else is moving to a 'all for one'... they way it should be... I remember when Amiga/Late model camira v IBM v Apple v Amstrad etc.... Ok, PC is slowly but surly moving, but why the f@r# the fruit brand is not following I will never know - even if it is all PC based technology/components now... Just like the iphone - can you guess whos components are inside? lmao... Apple is and has been for a long time, nothing more that a marketing and software company. In many ways, the next Sony IMO. Sony just forgot to creating new products... see how long it takes Apple to forget about 'the next big thing' and ends up spending far to much time in legal battles... zzzzzzzzzzz boring... get on with it, and just keep creating people! Has Ford and Mercedes gone and sued every other motor companies for building cars? they all have engines, 4 wheels on the outside, steering wheel etc... so must be patient infringements there... lol Anyways - feeling this battery needs to be a little better on the SG3 for heavy users... but in the end I guess there isnt much that would cope with the level of usage I have each and every day... Bastard died when I was out last night... lucky the vodka and women where far more interesting..
