Good news. The fuel pump has been replaced, and when they checked a noise I had mentioned they have also decided to replace the the tailshaft. At least I should get it back today.

So far so good, they gave me a hire car and have been keeping me up to date. I might get it back tomorrow. I hadn't heard of anything like this before and makes me wonder what the difference is with the new pumps if they are so new none are held in stock yet.

Just before I got to 400km's my car just stopped and refused to move at all when placed in drive. It went back to the dealers and they seem to think it's the fuel pump as they are trying to order one and say that the part number is not available and they will have to get one off the factory line. It's been 3 days so far, so we'll see how it goes. So after 3 days ownership with the XR6T I am the proud owner of a used rental XT mk2.....yay oh, plus there's a new XR6T (leather, dual zone air con, 18" wheels, premium audio etc...) at the dealers that I can have if they ever fix it.
