  6. I have premium brakes on my T.. just went in for my 20,000k service, and was told that I needed new discs already!!! They also said the pads had 2mm left on them. Is it possible that the pads have outlasted the discs? Ford quoted me $1,950 for new front discs & pads. I thought way too much!! Anyone have suggestions on where I can source premium discs & pads from? ?
  7. just had my serial numbes taken off my diff also, told my CRC that the updated diff is only around a week away from being fitted to my T. Will update with details
  8. guys, had a call from the ford CRC. Im waiting on a MkII diff. Apparently they are supposed to be alot quieter... lets just wait and see... I should be getting the MkII diff in about 2 weeks.. ill keep you posted..
  9. yes, you will be fed the usual crap from Ford, no doubt! Things like.. "..yours is not as bad as others they've seen.." and "... its just how this type of car is.." and "...its under Ford specifications.." And if your really lucky, they might even put the car up on hoists, show you underneath the car, and feed you more crap, trying to convince you that "everything is ok", when its clearly NOT! good luck anyway!
  10. After being told the clunks & shunts are part of my T, I decided to lodge my complaint with NGE. (www.notgoodenough.org). (Ford listed at No 7) I urge all you T drivers who have been told the same story from Ford, to take your complaint further (NGe, consumer affairs etc). This is simply not good enough from FORD, and the more people who make complaints, the better chance we have of gettting this widespread problem resolved. It has really really angered me to hear from others on this forum, that some T owners have absolutely no noise from their manuals, after I was told by a Ford engineer that its a "normal characteristic" of the vehicle to clunk & shunt. Not good enough!

  12. does anyone in melbourne have manual T, with no driveline noise at all? If so, please pm me, as I would like to meet up, so I can see what the manuals SHOULD be like. thanks guys
  13. does anyone know of a good driveline specialist in melbourne??
  14. On Friday, I had my xr6t inspected by Luke (engineer from Ford), to determine if the excessive noise, backlash, clunking in the driveline (whatever you wanna call it), was excessive. After taking my manual T for a drive, he said "sorry, that's the way they are", and advised nothing could be done. Hopeless. He also said that mine was one of the better ones he had seen. I really do feel sorry for the other T owners if mine is one of the better ones. I have lodged my complaint with NotGoodEnough, and they are considering listing it on the top 10 gripes. As a disappointed manual xr6T owner, I feel this is the only option I have to get something done about this widespread problem. Ford simply turn their back. I urge all manual T drivers, who experience the same problem, to lodge their complaint with www.notgoodenough.org, in an attempt to get this resolved. The more complaints the better chance we have.
