TOOWOOMBA CRUISE
SUNDAY 15TH JUNE 2008

WHAT
Travel from Burpengary to The Spit at Sommerset Dam via Kilcoy. Continue on through Esk and a brief pit stop at Ravensbourne National Park. Then on to Toowoomba for lunch at Picnic Point.
Then back to Brissie via the Warrego Highway.

CRUISE COMMENCES AT BP CABOOLTURE TRAVEL CENTRE (NORTH BOUND) - 8:00 AM
Picked here as it gives everyone a chance to stock up on goodies and also now that the Daguilar Highway has been extended to the Bruce Highway we can avoid going through Caboolture and getting split up.
If you're coming from the north you'll have to go past the BP and "chuck a u-turn" at the next exit (Morayfield)

WHAT TO BRING
- car
- warm clothes
- occupants (optional)

- drinks/morning tea if desired
- lunch (BYO if desired)
- uhf radio
- warm clothes
- full tank of fuel
- a pack of chewies as there's a fair bit of high altitude cruising
oh and don’t forget the warm clothes


THE FINE PRINT
In order for every body to have a good time, a few rules have been implemented. Failure to abide by these rules will ensure you are not invited to future events held by FordXR6Turbo.com.

The reasons for these rules are:

• Safety - We don't want to put any of our members, and the general public in any danger.
• Public Perception - We do not want the Ford XR6 Turbo community to face the same ridicule and stereotypes other car communities face.

The rules are simple:

• Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines etc... Any breaches will be reported to the local police.
• There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members.
• Use the Buddy system; always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn and to make sure nobody gets lost or left behind.
• CB Radios; if you don't have one, follow the maps and directions given out. If you do have one, please limit chatter during the twisty parts of the cruise. This will allow the cruise leader to relay information about road conditions, upcoming obstacles, etc. efficiently.
• By attending this cruise you agree not to hold FordXR6Turbo.com, its Administrators, Moderators, Cruise Organisers, or Owners responsible/liable for any damage and/or grief sustained (simply; if you stuff up it's your fault, not ours).

Yeah I noticed that but it shouldn't affect us traffic wise - and attendance wise the poll will take care of that. The V8's are also on that weekend as well.

Just watch out for the roadworks as you take the right hander at the very top of the range to descend fom Toowooba. Came around the corner a few weeks ago , big farking ditch across the road, big bang with the wheel turned = farked alignment.

Also highly recommend a Big Dads pie , one on James Street near Gedes Street . There are a 4 of em on the main drag between Woomba and Bris Vegas. Have one in each, huge variety. They even stock Farmers Union Iced Coffee to wash it all down

Sapenin Peeps , i'm new to this forum and QLD. Been ford crazy since i got a BA XR6 when i was 19... I have now recently stepped up a level to a BF Ser II XR6T Craig lowndes Ute !!!!!!!!! And lovin it!

Any who, i've been lookin to meet some petrol heads like myself. And go on a leasurely cruise, so whats the dealio can i just roll up, meet you guys and we hit the road???

I'm interested in finding out what mods people have got on their turbos? I've got a BOV, Growler cold air intake, and CAPA Xcal II 10psi program... for now

I imagine it would be upto u? If your from toowoomba u could drive towards us a little so u can cruise more, or meet at Picnic Point and cruise back to brisbane with us??

I'm very new. To this site, XR6 Turbos' and Australia! Arrived 28 Feb. from South Africa. Now in Hervey Bay. If my wife's not working (we share a car) may I come along too? Is it far from Hervey Bay. After spending a lot of time on au car sites......I'm buying a xr6 turbo!

Freezing by Qld standards....warm compared to the likes of Canberra though. Does that help?

It's usually only a few degrees cooler than the coast, but the wind chill factor is usually the killer.

Given there coming from via Esk, it looks as tho they heading in through Crows Nest and Highfields.

I might have to come up to Picnic Point at some point, and meet up.
