The 2008 calendar features an earlier start than usual with a significant break in the middle largely due to Seven's broadcast of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The Clipsal 500 in Adelaide begins the year as usual from February 21 to 24 followed by Eastern Creek in Sydney. One week after Eastern Creek is the non-Championship Australian Grand Prix.

The 2008 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series will mirror the Championship Series with the exception of the stand-alone race at Wakefield Park from April 4-6.

Todd Kelly can go chew a d*ck!
"I had to Steer away from the wall!"... WTF? The wall was miles away. It was just a deliberate attempt to put him out of race 1 banghead.gif

iagree.gif Supposed to be a 36 lap race and they spent the first 11 laps behind a safety car bangcomputer.gif
I cant say the scenery around the track looks that great either, like an old abandoned industrial estate, certainly nothing like Surfers Paradise.

I bet Todd and Rick go out and celebrate tonight, after he helped his little brother get the lead in the championship, its not how you win with those two. Whincup was on a flying lap, and Todd knew he was there, I think Jamie should have made him a visit with a 14lb sledge hammer.

HOLDEN DRIVERS: Once a cheat.....always a cheat!

I feel better now, thanks!
TOM1111
i only watched a few laps and as you said the backdrop is just industrial looking crap
and the track is to skinny and the lay out looks crap

at least the adelaid track is a good layout and also pulls a crowd
tab
withstupid.gif 's

Can't really add anything else. It's all crap verysad2.gif

phantomchic
well that was 3 hours I will never get back furious.gif

I don't like street tracks at the best of times but that was just a shemozzle from start to finish nono2.gif

at least Courtney did well wub.gif

Dagabond
One of the worst races I've had the displeasure of watching ever.

WTF was with the ring in the middle of the straight..... huh.gif

senna_T
they are new zealanders after all dunno.gif
phantomchic
what about the chicane.. lucky if a rider on a bmx could do that without going over the handle bars

I reckon track designers should have to pay 20% of the cost of damage to these cars, bet the tracks wouldn't be so ridiculous then .. banghead.gif
senna_T
ahhh, "chicane" PC - ever heard of spell-check??? stirthepot.gif
tmac450
That really was crap racing. What a piss poor excuse for a track.

If the officials were serious, Todd Kelly should have been excluded for putting Wincup out.

At least Morris got penalised for his blatant corner cut in the last race, but I thought it was rediculous how McConville was penalised, when it was clearly Dunbrell that hit him. Crap track, crap racing, crap officials.

Also, not enough was said about Lownds' brilliant recovery.

Credit where credit is due though, the top three did a great job all weekend.
tab
Indeed, but I think it was probably more luck than skill that they got through unscathed. It seems Courtney has settled down a bit which is a good sign.

Two sharp turns right off the start that can only realistically handle one car width is bullshit. Be interesting to see what percentage of racing was done under safety car....seemed like a hell of a lot. And then the safety car peels off, get to the first corner and it's all happening again! banghead.gif

your welcome spoton.gif

want me to post up the results to race one ?? rolleyes.gif
idawina
How is the racing going in Tasmania??
Trucka
1st race: Todd Kelly won, Whincup second and Winterbottom third. Tander back in 20th I think it was.
BionicXR6T
Whincup has got to be happy after winning the round...... beerchug.gif
But I don't think he'll be happy about letting the car get away from him on the parade lap and making a goose of himself after being gee'd up by Matty White..... blush.gif
Somehow, I can't imagine Roland Dane seeing the funny side of it either.......oops. bottom.gif
xr6turboman
lol that was kinda funny "you got something special for us jamie?"
ALF05T
Whincup is more than 300 points ahead of Tander which means a Ford has to win.
phantomchic
oh dear .. How upsetting

Tander cops a 10sec penalty for jumping the start spit.gif
tab
Frosty just copped two pinch.gif

A big wtf.gif there.

Quite devo about the news that Morris is retiring verysad2.gif

Congratulations to Wincup and 888 Racing for the 2008 championship win, now two more races just too rub it in w00t2.gif
phantomchic
FORD WINS!!!

FORD RULES!!!

ONYA WHINCUP!!!
tab
10 wins out of the last 11 races or something they were saying...that's pretty farkin impressive.

Onya Jamie bowdown.gif

senna_T
If Jamie wins one of todays races and the first round next year, he gets the record for most consecutive round wins. Richo currently holds the record at 7 i believe
tmac450
Well done Wincup and 888. Driver's, manufacturer's, team's and Bathurst champions for 2008, not to mention the most round and race wins by far. beerchug.gif

NOW FORD, GET OUT THERE AND TELL SOMEONE!

SO FAR YOU'VE DONE SEWWT FA!
tmac450
To cap it all off Skaife and now Morris retired. avatar6357_1.gif

This has to be one of the best years for V8 Supercars in a long time
senna_T
Oh yeah, and did Paul Morris get a mention? No, he didn't, because he was a dick, even in his last round he managed to take out the series Champion - what a dick...

Oh, and great job by Ford on announcing the Championship win - the Papers in sydney were covered in Skaifes retirement and Vodafone put a 1/3 page ad in the Telegraph...
tab
Did that obese c*ckmuncher get penalised for that? My tellie almost ended up through that farkin wall when I saw it.

senna_T
Ofcourse not, he drives a holden...
tab
lol

And all the farkin Skaife crap blahblah1.gif

80% of the telecast was dedicated to him, the final race finishes and we have to endure another farking interview....meanwhile you can here Whincup going nuts in the background doing his victory lap and we get to see 4 seconds of it. Pathetic.
