Word has it that Holden Motorsport want Walkinshoddy Engines in all Holden teams.

Now Garry Rodgers has agreed to have Walkinshoddy engines in his cars

According to "Auto Action", Dumbrell is going to Toll HSV, which leaves the big question.........who is going to SBR?
jcooke
i hope dumbrell is goin elsewhere, shocking driver IMO, keep him away from fords
XR_Brute
Larry Perkins gave his son the flick??
senna_T
no i think he was diagnosed with diabetes, or something, so unfortunately he can't race
macka'sxr6t
Interesting to see Skaife & Tander teaming up. Did'nt they have some digs at each other and their respective abilities earlier in the year.

Is it me or does the Holden driver talent seem a little thin if these changes are correct?

Brad Jones may as well go to Holden he has never been able to get his Fords sorted out no loss at all.

All Holdens running the same engines was always going to happen. Many Ford teams are running SBR engines to help with operational costs and share R&D costs. Lets just hope the scrutineers keep a close eye on these Walkinshonky engines, he has a habbit of finding ways to bend the rules to his advantage.

wheres seton.
if he's there, sorry, i cbf looking in greater detail

this speculation/update from the Gala din din tonight

all I can say with some of these moves.. shocked.gif shutup.gif

possible team moves for 2008, with Tander and Holden Racing Team (HRT) driver Todd Kelly linked with moves to new teams.

Tander, who won his championship with the Toll-HSV Dealer Team, has been linked with a switch to join Mark Skaife at the Holden Racing Team for next season.

And Kelly, out of contract at HRT, has been linked with several rides for 2008, including a move to Ford to fill the seat at Stone Brothers Racing left vacant by Russell Ingall's departure.

There is also speculation Kelly could join his brother Rick at Toll-HSV should Tander move to HRT, in what would amount to a straight swap.

Ingall is set to be confirmed as a Holden driver within days, joining Paul Morris' Gold Coast-based team.

But where Kelly lands is likely to determine just who else moves where, and could well have a bearing on Tander's fate.

Any move by Tander would be a brave one, considering the Toll team is now Holden's undisputed leading outfit after successive championship wins.

Rick Kelly won the title for Toll-HSV in 2006.

No change is expected at Ford's leading team Triple Eight Racing, with rising star Whincup adding to his growing reputation with his award win.

Todd I can handle, it's Rick that sh*t's me to tears.

Daddy owns the team license...the rest is a bit if a grey area.

Todd Kelly is a good bloke, His brother is a whinging pile of pooh.gif . I suspect Todd will go to Toll/HSV because they are the winning team, not because his daddy owns the license.

Well, its now been confirmed and Post #1 was correct,

Jack Daniel's Racing signs Todd Kelly
Release Date: 05/12/2007
Jack Daniel’s Racing has signed leading Holden driver Todd Kelly to head its 2008 V8 Supercar campaign.

Kelly, 28, joins the Larry Perkins-owned team to drive alongside up and comer Shane Price after a decade with the Clayton-based Holden Young Lions, Kmart Racing and Holden Racing Teams.

“A number of things are being considered at HRT which has enabled me to explore all the available options, and after 10 fantastic years I have decided it was time to accept a new challenge,” said Kelly.

Since his series debut at Eastern Creek in 1999, Kelly has made 106 starts, recording 18 individual race and 9 championship round wins as well as 16 additional podium finishes, including victories in the 2003 Sandown and 2005 Bathurst enduros. He has finished in the top 10 in driver points in each of his seven fulltime seasons.

“You can’t help but grow close relationships with people you work so closely alongside for 10 years so I’m sure I will miss everyone at HRT, but it is time for a change of scenery,” said Kelly.

“I couldn’t be more excited; there’s huge potential in Jack Daniel’s Racing and Larry has offered me the opportunity to be more involved with the team and cars – which is what I really enjoy.

“The people within the team, and the enthusiasm between it and the sponsors is also exciting. The change has already reignited my passion and given me a new lease on life.”

Perkins said Kelly was the perfect fit for Jack Daniel’s Racing.

“Todd is a driver who has a rare mix of experience and technical ability and we are very happy to sign him,” Perkins said.

“He’s someone who can contribute to the team and its performance both on and off the track, and he’s excited about working with us. I think he’ll fit in perfectly.”

Michael McShane, Jack Daniel’s Australia Managing Director said he welcomed Todd Kelly to the team.

“We are delighted to have secured a driver of Todd Kelly’s calibre; he fits our image and brand perfectly and will enable us to continue to promote our ‘Pace Yourself. Please Drink Responsibly” responsible consumption message which is the focus of our V8 Supercar sponsorship,” said McShane.

“Todd is the new face of Jack Daniel’s Racing and we are looking forward to building the team around Todd and Shane Price and winning the Championship.”

Brown Forman Corporation is a diversified producer and marketer of quality beverage products, including Jack Daniel’s, Southern Comfort, Finlandia Vodka, Woodford Reserve, Tuaca and Chambord.

Garth has officially made the move to HRT (as expected) and Dumbrell has gone into his spot at Toll/HSV, so who is going to SBR?

I have no idea, but guessing possibilities would be:

Will Davison
Alex Davison
Luke Youlden
Jonathen Webb
Andrew Thompson

Who I'd like to see there: Chris Alajajian spoton.gif
macka'sxr6t
It seems that SBR's is running out of options for a top quality driver, it is a sad day when the once leading Ford team seems to be slipping out of contention. Lets hope they can uncover another Ambrose to revive they domination.

Alex Davison would be my pick from Barry's list if that's all that available.
Dagabond
All this shufflings getting as interesting as the races.... zzz.gif

Lucky you've got Foxtel I guess dunno.gif
Barry Blue
Alex Davison may well be a possibility, there is a strong rumour that he does have a full time drive in the V8's, but did'nt say who with. hmm.gif

SBR probably have it all worked out and keeping it under their hats ...

doubt anyone would want prkelly on their team .. nono2.gif

A bit more info on the Dumbrell move and changes in Toll-HSV

QUOTE
Former V8 Supercar Development Series Champion Paul Dumbrell will join the championship-winning Toll HSV Dealer Team alongside Rick Kelly next season.

Dumbrell, 25, replaces newly-crowned champion Garth Tander who shifts to the Holden Racing Team after three successful years with Toll HSV.

The team also announced that current team Team Engineer, Erik Pender, had been promoted to Team Manager, replacing Rob Crawford who is also transferring to HRT as Team Manager.

Erik’s current role as Rick Kelly’s engineer will be filled by Alistair McVean, from Walkinshaw Performance.

As well, the team has signed an agreement with dual World Touring Cup winner Paul Radisich to return to the team for the 2008 enduros, while also playing a support role throughout the season.

In making the announcements, Team Owners John and Margaret Kelly praised the contributions of Tander and Crawford, saying they had been instrumental in the team’s back-to-back championship successes.

“Garth slotted straight into the team when he arrived three years ago, and formed a formidable combination with Rick (Kelly) and the engineers and crew,” John Kelly said.

“Now that he has ticked the box of the Drivers Championship, we understand why he now wants to take this new opportunity. He goes with our best wishes.”

Kelly also praised the efforts of Crawford, who oversaw the growth of the team from the fledgling Holden Young Lions into Kmart Racing and finally, HSV Dealer Team.

“Rob built the team virtually from scratch, taking it from an off-shoot of the Holden Racing Team into the best team in pit lane,” he said.

“Erik has been his understudy for many years, and we are confident he will have no trouble making the transition.”

Dumbrell, who became the youngest ever driver to race V8 Supercars at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 24 days in 1999, joins Toll HSV from Supercheap Auto Racing.

The Melbourne driver cut his teeth in Formula Holden, where he spent two seasons (1999-2000), before moving to the V8 Development Series in 2001.

He finished a narrow second place in the series to Simon Wills in his first season before taking out the title in his second year.

That same year, he was signed to drive alongside Larry Perkins in the endurance races, coming seventh in the Queensland 500 and fifth at Bathurst.

He raced full-time with Perkins’ race team from 2003 to 2006, again coming fifth at Bathurst in his final year there.

In 2007 he joined Supercheap Auto Racing alongside Cameron McConville, but started looking for a new driving seat with the announcement that SCAR would close at the end of 2007.

He says he is thrilled to have landed a drive with the championship-winning team.

“This team has proved over the past two years that it is second to none, winning both the Drivers and Teams Championships back to back,” he said. “It is the opportunity I have been waiting for, and I didn’t have to think twice about it.”

Newly appointed Team Manager Erik Pender joined the team in 1999 after successful stints in Formula 2 and Formula Holden with drivers such as Arthur Abrahams and Mark Noske.

Queensland-raised Pender was a technician and data engineer in the Young Lions days before going on to become Team Engineer on Greg Murphy’s Kmart Commodore in a successful partnership that delivered many race successes, including back-to-back Bathurst wins with Murphy and Rick Kelly in 2003-4.

Pender has engineered Rick Kelly’s Commodore over the past three years in a stint that netted the 2006 Drivers Championship.

Kiwi international Paul Radisich, who has agreed to return to the team for the enduros, drove with Kelly to second place in the Sandown 500 this year.

The team looks forward to welcoming him back to again bolster the driving ranks while also playing a support role throughout the season.
