Have a look here
http://www.caradvice.com.au/ for full details of what you get. I recon those pics are $hit, like all other pics that Ford release of new cars.
Should look a lot better in real life. this is a bit like what they did with the Rebel AUIII XR8 back in the day.

I like it, at least something to distinguish the Xr6T and Xr8 from the other models.
wheels look good, and dark accents tie in nicely with the sideskirts and bumper treatments.

it will depend on colour too, if its on a vixen car, it probably won't look as good, as well as neo, the contrast will be wrong...

Is that grey stuff on the kit and wheels an optional extra? or standard? i hope its optional looks try hard.
SCRIBR
Oct 22 2007, 06:33 AM
it's standard isn't it?
maybe if they didn't treat their customers so bad, i.e. ME!, i wouldn't have to bad mouth them to everybody i know.... It's their own fault their 'on their knees'
senna_T
Oct 22 2007, 08:25 AM
its not ford motor company, its the dealers that treat ppl badly, there is a misconception that ford tell the dealers what to say, we follow the warranty to the t, however some ppl can be pretty harsh in interpreting what the warranty allows...

Oct 22 2007, 10:45 AM
no not yet, we don't want any of em really! While its quiet we aren't ordering any stock, but i saw the one at Sydney Motor Show, it was octane with the new kit, looked terrible IMO!

Must be REALLY bad or really

since i'm struggling to find any real life photos of it from the motor show sites or from private photo collections. Pretty frustrating cause i'm right in the middle of a purchase decision with my deposit sitting with the dealers. Tryin to find a photo of a vehicle with a colour which might actually suit the grey additions rather than the bright yellow so i can make a final choice.

Thanks Senna

, yeah i've got that photo...if it looked like that then i woulldn't mind but we all know how different computer imagery/touched up photos can look compared to the real thing. The photo there is supposedly "lightening strike" coloured XR and no way the colour looks like that on the road .
senna_T
Oct 22 2007, 12:12 PM
its not too far from that in real life, as i said earlier, the one in octane looks terrible IMO, but you're right, com gen and real life are two different things completely

Perhaps the same add on bits painted body colour would actually look alright but not in the grey highlight colour!

IMO they don't really suit the lines of the car. The body shape of the rest of the car is smooth and a bit round. Those extra bits look sharp and jagged compared to the rest of the car's lines.
This is more obvious in the pic from behind. From the top of the boot down to the bottom it is all following one round line, then when it hits those 'added' bits the line changes direction and goes the other way... bad designing I reckon..
