Hi, has any one had the heater control arm or heater rod go on them? My heater works but the arm or rod which connects to the heater temp knob has broken (they think) and won't open the vent to allow heat to come out. Been quoted 6 to 7 hours labour.

Is this something you can do by yourself and does anyone know how?

Mate this happened to my car (climate control). One side used to blow hot and the other cold. It was done under warranty and my car had to stay overnight on a couple of occasions to get this sorted coz it took em a few goes (not to mention the other bits they broke in the process of taking the dash apart).

I have seen a tech document someone put together but can not recall where, it outlines the process to check and repair. This the other forums and link in the BA section.
