I just got new rear tyres.
These days are an absolute hoot and would highly recommend to anyone.
For new owners, this is a perfect opportunity to learn how your car feels sliding around in safe controlled conditions.

tyre wear shouldn't be a problem if the skid pan is well watered and with diesel

Ahh that depends.
Whether you are actually on the wet part or the dry.
Need to pump the tyres right up too. I forgot last time and the outside edges were worn at the end of the day.
OK. Some of it was done before the day as well.

Hi Guys,
We will call for some definate numbers now, could we start to make a list
Location of event for thoises that dont know:
OK, Roadcraft is where it is being held, check out www.roadcraft.com.au
when you drive to Gympie, you will pass a Matildas then there is a Caltex servo which is in the 80 zone. once you cross a bridge with a rest area immediately after it, you are directly opposite the complex. Take your next right then turn right immediately again. Follow this staraight ahead then through the gates in front of you. there is a bike track on your left, turn left. Follow the roadway down and around, then you will need to turn off to your left on a dirt section of road which is about 150 m long, give or take a bit. the skid pan will be obvious to you by this time.
I will ask for payment as we have to pay before the event so will PM this out to those on the list. I will do this shortly.
In meantime:
Attendees:
We have 12 cars already confirmed from the FPV club;

You might be looking for this?
http://www.drivertraining.com.au/index.htmlLooks like it might be instructor led.
For your info, we had 6 drivers in Melbourne and we got 4 turns each in about 3 1/2 hours. We could only fit 1 car at a time on the skid pan though, so it may be different for this one.

Hi All
At this stage I look like a non starter. I forgot about it being on the 1st Oct. It's our anniversary.
My other half doesn't think a day at the Gympie Skidpan would be too romantic, can't imagine why not!
You'll all have a ball, it's a great day.

For those of you that want to have a meeting point in the wee little land of Brisvegas...
Sutty, 53TGO, diehard and myself will be meeting at the Shell Servo (near the sails towards the car wash end).
Location: Shell Service Station, "Nudgee Rd Exit" on the "Gateway Arterial Motorway",
Time, no later then 6am, Sunday morning, 1st October.
And no, we will not be running on "Shazzy time"

Need to be at Gympie before 8am.
