Heya fellow QLD members,

Just returned from some of the best fun I've had in a while. And I was wondering if you would be interested in giving "Laser Skirmish" a go. spoton.gif

w00t2.gif GREAT FUN w00t2.gif
And it's very reasonably priced.

Combination of "Laser Force" and "Skirmish" in one, without the Camo gear and the bruising. Great for the tin-lids too.

Get to use varius styles of guns which give you more options and game modes then just your typical laser pistol style of suits and you only have 2 sensors that are placed on the cap you are given so no additional protection is needed. I'd recommend jeans or long pants though, lol, I went for a commando style stack, hahahaha, my poor knee, oh well, still carried on for 4 more games........anyway.

Check out the following URL: Laser Skirmish Homepage.

Once there, see any of the events down the LHS frame under "Australian Battlefields". The one we tried was at Macgregor situated in a High School so pleanty of places to duck n hide. There are other locations that are more "traditional" battlefields, say Mango Hill, Samford and places at the Gold Coast as well.

See if anyone is interested but trust me, you will have a ball.

No reason why we couldn't add this in as part of a cruise as well div20.gif
Logsie
But why not play the real thing
Are you a man bb.gif or a mouse tease.gif
jetute
looks like a blast spoton.gif however I think I would prefer teh welts and bruises of the paintball version of the game.... That said, this seems to be a MUCH cheaper option @$20 per head... I recogn it would make a fun day
HellionXR6T
Exactly Hannu,

It's a low cost option, easy, inexpensive event that your kids can participate in as well with minimal chance of them getting hurt.

This is only a thread to guage interest but I'm keen to organise an event different from the norm.

Main points going for "Laser Skirmish" are:

* Low Cost.
* Lots of choices as to where the event can be held.
* Excellent for the children (so you can bring them with you & have them participate).
* Fast paced games and lots of varients.
* No need for Camo/protective gear therefore you are more agile on the field.
* Choice of various styles of guns from sniper rifles with scopes to lightweight models, (all with different reload times, range and ammo settings).
HellionXR6T
I was going to post this as a second alternative but ....HERE IT IS.

If you guys want to do the "traditional" Skirmish, just hold that thought and check this out. Once again, fast paced, different variations in gameplay and a hell of a lot of fun.

It's called "Velocity Indoor Paintball".

It's in a warehouse with an indoor arena that constantly has the map layout changed on a regular basis. You get "Professional" quality semi-auto guns that are accurate and have good range, paintballs of a top quality (but are expensive) but if we get enough interested people, you can shave the costs dramatically by buying the paintballs in bulk.

<<< Word of warning, 500 paintballs don't go far....lol. >>>

Check it out: Velicity Indoor Paintball

Group bookings are available and specials/discounts are offered so I'd book it but we would need some numbers going and payment commitments fromm the members to do this. It's not too expensive but you are using professional gear, not the crappy pea shooters you get with a base skirmish package, poor quality paintballs, low rate of fire, inaccurate guns.....etc.

These tournament grade guns can shoot over 10 paintballs per second, have a range of 200+ metres and are very accurate.

Mmm, noice.

More your style gentlemen? bb.gif ...Bring it on w00t2.gif div20.gif

Cool Ian, the more time we have to plan, the better we can organise the event so everyone has a brilliant time.

At this point I want to see if either "Laser Skirmish" or "Velocity Paintball" would hold the most interest.

Also mid year may be better, heaps cooler, especially if you're head to toe in protective gear. div20.gif
jetute

if you guys do organise im in... prefer the paintball one but happy to do the laser version as well spoton.gif a bit of notice would be nice too spoton.gif
HellionXR6T
Oh there will be notice dude... Comes with organisation, numbers...etc. The Laser Skirmish one isn't a drama, hopefully there will be enough feedback to to organise an event. Failure to get the numbers will result in going for the Laser Skirmish event. There were 13 of us on Saturday and it looks like pleanty turn up. Haha, we could all be on one team.

For Velocity Paintball, we at least need 10 or more people (over the age of 15) for the session in order to book a group session and have it to ourselves, split up into teams of 5 or more players. Out of the 10-20 people, 1 person can play for free. Easily do a lucky dip for that on the day.

Split the cost of additional paintballs bewteen 10 or more ppl + just going for the "Pro Pack", (@ $89.00 each)...Should provide lotza rapid fire goodness whistling.gif Believe me, 500 paintballs can be enough but not if there are any "Arnie's" out there, ROFL. YOU WILL NEED MORE!

I love this line on the site...lol.

"For those who believe in “accuracy by volume”, extra paintballs are available in addition to those supplied with your package". laughing.gif

* 100 Paintballs — $24.00
* 200 Paintballs — $40.00
* 500 Paintballs — $90.00
* 2000 Paintballs — $300.00

-----------------------------------------------------------

If you are looking at value for money, this is what it will cost you.

Laser Skirmish: $25 each (roughly 4 x 20 min games) + additional games for $5.00 each (you must bring cash).

You get:

* Weapon of your choice
* Cap (needed for 2 sensors leading from the gun attach to via velcro).

Velocity Paintball: $89.00 each + additional cost for extra paintballs. The $89.00 gets you:

* MacDev Cyborg Paintball Marker
* JT Full Coverage Headshield or PMI X-Ray Goggle System
* Field Armor Full-Body Padded Suit (you need it)
* 500 Paintballs
* 2 Hours session

Logsie
Are we playing laser skirmish outside
Indoor is to bloody hot censored.gif
I may be in for paintball spoton.gif
HellionXR6T
Laser Skirmish would be outside, regardless at what location it's held.

Logsie, if you put on all the camo gear for Traditional Skirmish or a padded suit for Indoor Paintball, you're still going to get hot, bugger the snipering "stay in one spot" business stirthepot.gif

laughing.gif

BUMP

C'mon ppl...Surely there has to be some interest here. Even if it's not quite your thing, you will still have a ball (or 2, 10, 100...etc)... whistling.gif

Found the perfect venue "THE REAL THING" for all you nuts out there bb.gif Details soon, making calls tomorrow morning to get additional information. I'll start a fresh thread once I have all the details.

Sessions are 2 hours each, 1 @ 10am the next @ 1pm.

Cost is quite reasonable actually, Seeing if I can get a better deal for a group booking. Base prices are : $22 per person. $17 for 56 paintballs, Rambo pack of 134 paintballs for $35 or the "Auto blaster pack"!!! 400 paintballs for $85...Now we are talking w00t2.gif !!!

I'm thinking Sat 1st July or Sun 2nd July (I'd prefer the Saturday to be honest).

Location is in Mudgeeraba, cruise through some popular terrain....lol.
