So in other words we are looking at a 13 second pass with a decent clutch? Whats a stocker meant to run? Between 14.9 and 14.4?

Hope so Max,nothing more embarrassing than lighting up the clutch in front of a big crowd,losing drive,getting pushed off the track and then towed home.

Pretty hard to explain to the dealer too.should do a high 13 with a decent launch but knowing your clutch has slipped before makes it pretty difficult........and the smell;stays in the car for ages.

It'll get the full serve when the clutch is fixed.

Speaking of embarrasing oneself, today I tried some launching. What is the best way to go? TC on or off!? With it on it seemed to be a smooth take off from about 1900RPM with minimal TC activation. I then tried switching it off and again launched at 1900ish RPM but the bas*ard just squealed both tyres and began sliding sideways.. Much to the disgust of the elderly neighbourhood.. I looked like a stooge..
Seems at any RPM above about 1400 it will spin the tyres for a good 1 - 2 seconds. Surely this is wasting time? Would the track offer more grip thus eliminating this problem?

I
NEVER have TC on when I want to get a good launch. I find that it cuts the power too much. I reckon a little bit of wheelspin is a good launch. As long as the car is moving forwards.

)
14.416 ... 101.32
14.199 ... 100.90
15.084 ... 96.71 (Took 3 goes to get 3rd

)
14.198 ... 102.78

13.878 ... 101.49

First time out for me,
My runs....
14.56 97.02mph (no burnout straight on)
14.667 97.19mph (botched up the launch)
14.75 95.50mph (crap, could smokeup the tires - TC was on duhhh)
14.51 98.54mph (smoked the tires, happy with this one)
Overall fairly happy, I was hoping lower 14's but my car's only done 5000ks will give it another shot after 10000K's. Need more power....
It was a good night.
Maxx Power
Feb 20 2005, 03:00 PM
In order of running:
13.972 @ 100.89 MPH (Pretty shocked when I seen the slip seeing as it was my first pass ever)
14.059 @ 99.70 MPH
13.851 @ 100.69 MPH
13.987 @ 98.17 MPH (In dial your own shootout i backed off as I hit the line)
22.981 @ 45.18 MPH (Lost traction and smoked it almost half way down the 1/4!)
13.841 @ 101.32 MPH
Great fun, my car has no mods at all besides a BMC filter. Pretty amazed that it ran high 13's all night.
