A thread for general conversation for SA members as suggested at the last cruise
Our car went in today for Xede chip pick it up tomorrow badxr6 suggests that I should expect 220-230 rwkw, can,t wait!Bruce tunes Boosties ute so he,ll get the most out of chip only I,m sure.
So Lee hows the clutch coping, recovered and doing the job I hope?
Haven,t caught up on your thread Shifty, hope youv,e sorted the complete shutdown problem, ours has done it too and its scary in a passing manouvere
Voy are you going to power up?
Vik loved the sound of that exhaust, will follow your lead I reckon.
I spose we,ll see rusty,s ute in the classifieds soon, got another year to go on my work ute lease-pity.
AND the big question will John breakout the mighty GTR for the next cruise,God I hope so!

Ouch, how long have they had it? These cars today are getting so complex.I imagine the dealer is sifting through a nationwide Ford Dealer data bank of similar incidents in an effort to find a solution to your problem

anyway I hope you get IT back ASAP!

Thanks for the welcome, I've been reading stuff for a while, but havent really said much though, still waiting for my T and it arrives next week.
But it feels good to chat to the locals in SA, and find out about what's going here. Oh and shiftyxr, I hope that they sort out your T's problem ASAP.

Yeah, very happy with the tint makes the car look different from all the other XR6's out there. Looks the goods too, Mr. X I can't remember if you said you had tint or not, but it definatley looks good on a LS car.
Mr X
Aug 25 2004, 08:14 PM
Yeah Maxx got tint as dark as dog guts, sets off LS really nicely doesn,t it?Got the the car back with the xcede but haven,t driven it yet too dirty in work clothes picking it up so mummy drove it home(she says its very fast

) me following in the ute and too buggered to drive it now.I,ll go for a spin tomorrow.Wasn,t too dirty to sit in the back of Bruces phantom XR6T 325 kw at the rear wheels for a quick spin around the block.Holy fcuken mother of god: that thing goes like teflon coated sh*t off a chrome shovel!Easily the fastest car I,ve ever been in.This power thing could be adictive

Mr X
Aug 25 2004, 09:03 PM
Lee; dyno sheet says 220 rwkw which translates I,m told into mid to high 13,s.Might check that ET thread to see what others are getting.Guess I can wait till tomorrow to see how it goes. Not as much grunt as yours but might be enough to keep me happy for a little while.I was wondering how everyones tyres were after the last cruise. These Dunlop SP 9000,s on the 18' wheels have got chronic saw tooth on the edges.Do the 17,s do the same?

Thats interesting Ed coz I,m looking at aftermarket rims down the track so maybe going to 17,s might not be as silly as it sounds.the higher sidewalls would also be a bonus with some of the roads/potholes we,ve got around here.

Actually added two muffs to it...
The story is ,removed centre muff ;replaced flanged to flange with pipe only.
Was good at first but got louder, then started to drone whith a car load of people
Put two hot dogs in,,,beewweedifull sound now, better than an M5,sorta sounds euro if you know what I mean.
The muff bloke reckons they get louder cause they(muffs) carbon up,go for a hot spin, blow the cobbwebs out,and thats why your bomb always sounds louder after a goog burn.
Cheers to the SA files

Just had a look at my tyres and they seem to be coping pretty well after almost 10,000kms. Only worry was hitting that pothole on the cruise at speed. Came off from that ok luckily. Some of the bloody roads around town are disgraceful especially after heavy rain, the potholes seem to double their width!

Drove it today Ed and the difference is remarkable.I thought it was pretty quick before, but the chip has really woken it up!It really feels like a good solid mid 13,s car just like the old days, but you've really got to watch the tacho because that last few hundred revs come up pretty quick.I'll have to short shift it a bit to stay on the safe side of the rev limiter I think.
