  3. Will retain VCT. Yeh will go for retune as soon as they are fitted. Want to try and get the cam timing spot on and bring my turbo on a bit earlier with the retune. Goal is 600rwhp.

  5. perhaps I'm just skeptical and/or pessimistic. I wouldn't want those cams anyway, as it moved the start of the power band from 4,000 revs right up to 5,000 and made the power curve gain height slower (e.g. feels slower). The area under the curve is what feels good in a road car, so the 577 isn't that far behind right up to 6,700rpm. Obviously after 5,500 revs the 677 is better, but how often are you going to be in this rev range

  6. k31thy your denial, 26psi both runs. Only so much timing you can chuck into it. #dynomitecamsfork31thy

  7. well, it must have been tuned to suit the new camshafts, so it's not just the camshafts... and changing of valve springs can make a motor perform MUCH better to the capability of the remaining mechanical components if it's the valve springs causing things to run average.

  8. E85, Typhoon. Big claims I know but this guy does have a 6 second barra remember. At the forefront of barra development.

  10. That's why I went with Atomic Stage 3 cams.

  11. Most of you know I’ve done the TBRE stage 3 camms and I honestly cannot reccomend them at all on a street car, they are a massive PITA to drive with, fuel pours out the exhaust literally the low end loss is massive and the VCT struggles like a Bit3h to maintain angle making for one of the sh*ttezt drives ever... cams are literally the last resort on a FG imho and that’s well over 1000hp before they’re needed there’s only two positives to Big cams, one is the sound and the other is the peak gain The TBRE stage 3’s I tuned were shocking to the point I pulled them out and put in stock BF cams and everything become normal again, manners, economy low end power gain was the big one heres the best IMHO stage 3’s have ever sounded from TBRE, that said Atomic cams are much nicer grind and manners Don't want to put a dampener on your aspersions guys but have a drive of a big cammed Barra and get an honest feel for what you’re about to get into as it’s an expensive exercise to go through it all

  12. I'm going to have a look at a couple of bf gas motors tomorrow. I'm not too hopeful given the price but if the cams are alright and the compression is good then I'll be in business. Which brings me to the comp test, the engines are out of the cars so I'm thinking that I'll turn them over with my speed brace and a socket. Wish me luck! Failing that there's a gas motor at the wreckers with less than 90xxxkm on it which I'll pick up on Monday.

  15. I noticed that doing less volume has made my workouts easier as far as lifting more weight goes. I did start fairly light with the deadlifts just to make sure it's all good and...it's all good. I'm looking forward to making some good strength gains over the next year and will be in the advanced lifting strength category notwithstanding injury. I think it'll take 6 months but we'll see, I ain't making any promises lol This means at the low end; benching 120kg for 5 reps squatting 160kg for 5 reps deadlifting 190kg for 5 reps overhead pressing 75kg for 5 reps

  16. it's OK, puff, my apartment building is all concrete, so the pelvis (and mine :O ) will just turn to dust switched back to see how not doing my "old" routine for the last two weeks affected me, and it was surprisingly difficult... a surprising effect, really.

  20. Well I swapped programs early cos reasons. Working out for an hour per session, twice a day, 6 days per week has it's place and I made some good gains from it. I'm changing to a 6 week program that has a deload week on the 6th week and is 4 to 5 days per week except the 5th week which is only 3 days. While it is still hypertrophy based it focuses on progressive intensity rather than the progressive volume that I was doing before. This program includes dead lifts which I've been missing a little bit. Anyway I finished my lunch today and was getting ready for a workout when I realised that it's a day off today! It feels strange not going out to the shed for a workout after lunch when I've been going out there so often but I'm glad for the extra rest.

  24. http://www.vi-pec.com/techdata/documentation You should be able to get your wiring info from the above link, I used to run a vipec v88 in my XH with turbo Barra unfortunately don't have any of the details anymore (gave it away to the bloke that bought the ecu) but you should be able to work out using the ViPec site pretty easy the 88 will run the ethrottle as well. Don't know if this helps but this is the I/O schedule I used sadly I have deleted the tune but will keep searching as I might have a USB with a tune that will get you started.

  26. Correct. Correct. Nope. Inputs are the things that the ecu reads such as temp sensors and position sensors and outputs are the things that the ecu controls like thermo fan set points and idle control valves etc. Seems obvious when it's put like that but sometimes it helps to go back to basics
