  1. Just a wee bit of poke....... Fronts will be right once rolled and camber is sorted. The rear rims sit flush with the guard but the pirrellis are pretty wide and I don't want to have the stretched look. I'll probably sort a b series axle to fix that, cant see the guards pumping out that much.

  2. Seriously though if you spend $22 on a volt gauge and $30 on boost gauge don't expect them to be too accurate. Also arronm has a very good point. It's hard enough watching my boost and afr gauge that are dash mounted and keep an eye on the road. Looking down and actually getting a reading is a recipe for disaster.

  4. An xbox or Playstation or Harvey Norman PC is fark'n powerful and flash for 90% of the people who buy them. For a while. A custom PC lasts a lot longer - but can be upgraded later to still be powerful. (same pc from PS1 days still runs quick. PS1 is now a Lada) To add longevity (power/flash wise) to any of the above requires community, modability and desire. No one is going to spend time, nor is the community/desire going to be there to upgrade/hack the xbox, PS or HN PC - will be a new model later to swap over for. The custom PC will have parts swapped out, have the bios entered and tweaked, be broken, fixed, broken and fixed again. To me most cars are xboxes, playstations or HN PC's No matter how great they are at launch - no matter how great the specs are - that's the best they'll ever be. Some cars though - they get "Jailbreak"'d They become the custom PC versions - get tweaked, upgraded, overclocked, broke, fixed, broke and fixed again. Has the Kia got the factory or the community support to be anything other than a console or HN PC? Will it be the next WRX or EVO or FPV or HSV? Or will it be the next Hyundai Soupe?

  10. Thanks Puff (that website might come in handy one day) and El. I bought some splicing connectors from Jaycar and intend to splice into the cable so I can keep the connector justin case I need it the future and also bought a 20A fused Cig Lighter dual socket so will do it that way. Will come in handy to power rear camera or fridge if I ever buy one. May take some pics when I get around to doing it in between being taxi driver for the kids

  12. If it's powerful and reliable as well as decent build quality it might win some decent fans that are not already attached to a brand too hard - either new drivers or those that are happy to swap badges. People like myself who love Fords tragically and don't like the idea of buying another brand will be harder to convince. I respect any car can can give me a run for my money down the drag strip, but that's just me. Has to be pretty special to want to buy one...I'd love a Dodge Hellcat or Demon. As for modding the Kia Stinger for more power - if the engine has decent power it might not have much left in terms of tune-ability if it's already at the pointy end of what the components can withstand. Time will possibly bring the goods though, as we saw with B series modded power levels increasing massively from 2002 to 2008! 300rwkw and 11 second quarters used to be impressive, now it's barely worth mentioning unless it's to someone that has never modified! Luckily an 11 second car still feels fairly impressive to passengers that haven't gone for a spin in a powerful car yet

  13. As I said - if the platform backs up the design then am all for it. If the brochure is all gloss then I'm not. I think on this forum there's a hell of a lot of quiet satisfaction and complacency that the platform overdoes the brochure. I can't see us getting this sort of performance/dollar again til electric cars (with zero limitations) become affordable.

  17. I think I mentioned the "Nescafe" homebrew kit I bought. Have had some decent beers from it, but some of my favorites really need to be poured oldschool with nitro or a hand pump (or have the widget in the can) Went searching for solutions where I could have the same smooth, creamy goodness from the home brew (or what dad calls - "they way they do Guinness") at home. Short of getting a whole tap/bottle/fridge system I stumbled upon a system that does it for me Bought myself a "nirtobrew" kit and am trying it out now. Was skeptical, but fark me - mothers milk This is a stout - it poured out of my tap with almost zero head. Excuse the colour of the clip - doesn't do it justice - the head isn't white - it's as chocolate coloured as a hipsters macciato. Have got a "Kilkenny" on brew at the moment - that will be the proof of concept - if that works then I'm hooked.

  18. Dont drill the spotwelds. Get 1mm grinder blade in between the bracket and guard lip where they are spotwelded and cut through the weld. Repeat. Do not drill the spot welds. The lip is approx 20mm, this gives the roller 20mm of leaverage. Once drilled you are left with maybe 5mm. This is fail because the roller will roll the 20mm areas and where its 5mm it wont move. This will leave 2 very noticable dints on the outside right where the spotwelds were.
