  3. As mentioned, I put it into another Dell laptop and would not boot. I plugged it into my gaming machine and did not make any changes to the boot sequence. Windows 10 booted as normal and my login showed up. Logged in and checked windows explorer and to my surprise, the damn thing was listed as the F drive. I grabbed all the Data I needed and boooooooooooooooooooooooooooobs your uncle, I was a happy man. This has been ordered... image snapshots has caught my attention. https://www.qnap.com/en-au/product/model.php?II=214

  4. Hi Everybody. Today I sold my FG XR6 Turbo and it is a sad day but I have enjoyed every single bit of it. Tonight I took it for its last drive to buy a Pie and some bread becaus ei did not have bread in the house and it was such a awesome drive to the Servo and back tonight, the torque it had on the cold weather was just intoxicating. I have absolutely no idea how I began to like the XR6Ts I can vaguely remember many years ago somebody saying he was driving one as a mechanic and he floored it and it just went sideways even at such low speed. It was never a car I even liked. Whenever I buy a car I like to find a Forum or Club, and I did this when I bought my car the exact same day I logged on and there was a cruise that exact night. I rocked up not knowing what to expect, I thought it was going to be a big meet with people talking trash showing off there pursuit rims but it was totally the opposite The atmopshere was great there was skids but the cruises were the safest I've ever been on and also the best organized of any other forum or club. People actually enjoyed cruising, it was purposeful, it was fun. goodbye and I love you guyus

  6. If yas want I'll meet you all at the Crafers Hotel on Friday. There is a BP servo across the road from there so we can all fill up if we need to for the Saturday cruise. It's only about 10 minutes from the caravan park and is just off the freeway where you'd exit anyway. 2nd edit: This would be a good meeting spot for Saturday morning as well.

  7. Haha that's funny. I collect them so I can easily see if I'm logged in as me when I'm on mobile. I also check every unread post on the forum each day so I am caught up with stuff. I'm pretty sure @BAXRTUTE is just working his arse off atm and for that reason isn't very active on here right now. @Rab I've talked the missus into coming up on Friday with the kids so you all can meet my bunch of little puffwagons.

  13. So a couple of weeks ago the gearbox selector cable came off the lever at the gearbox leaving the car stuck in drive. I finally got around to fixing it properly after the cable ties that were holding it on came off and car was stuck in drive again. I decided to remove the lever from the gearbox, remove the little ball joint and just nut and bolt the selector cable on there. So I thought I would do a little write up for anyone else that may want to do it or has to do it if their cable has come off. I recommend doing it before your cable falls off because I can gaurantee that it'll happen at the most inconvient time and you'll be stuck where ever it happens, I was just lucky it happened at home! The only cost is the nut and bolt but most people have that laying so it'll pretty much cost you nothing to do. This is the quick fix that we came up with to get the car going again so we could move it out of the way. Good ole zip ties did the trick and got it moving, but is definetly not a permanent fix. The lever is located on the passenger side of the gearbox so the car will need to jacked up or lifted up so you can get under it to remove the lever. After the car is jacked up or lifted the lever can be removed by taking off a nut with a 13mm socket/spanner. The lever will just slide off, may need a bit of a wiggle but should just slide off. Once the lever is off you can remove where the cable attaches to the lever. There are several different ways to do it, I chose to grind the opposite side to where the cable attaches and then punch out the little tab. Once you've removed the little tab you will need to either drill out or file out the bush inside the end of the selector cable so a bolt will fit through it. I used a 5/16 bolt as it was the only bolt I had at the time that would work. As much as I hate using something imperial on the car it's all I had at the time. Would probably be better to use 8mm bolt so you don't need metric and imperial tools if you ever need to take the lever back off in the future. Once the bolt will fit through the selector cable hole refit the lever and put the bolt through the lever and cable and tighten them up. Ensure to use a nyloc nut to ensure it doesn't come loose over time and come off again. I didn't use a washer but afterwards I thought it's probably a good idea to put a washer between the cable and the head of the bolt/nut depending on which way you put nut and bolt on. This took all of about half an hour from start to finish and is a cheap, easy and quick mod that could save you some pain down the track.

  14. Hey guys, Post updated to lock in Adelaide accommodation Friday Travelling from our various locations to the Belair Caravan Park where we'll be staying during our 2 nights in Adelaide. I spoke to Tonya this morning and she was more than happy to have us there and says she's able to put us all in cabins close to each other. Rates are very reasonable, facilities seem fantastic and there are plenty of options to choose from (even tent sites if you want to save money) Bookings can be made online, but I'd recommend calling them (08) 8278 3540 and letting them know you're with the group with ANDREW CARRUTHERS so they can fit us all in close proximity to each other. I plan on arriving between 5 and 6pm and will be putting on a BBQ for anyone interested. I'll be bringing enough meat, snags, salad, bread, plates, cutlery etc so feel free to partake - just let me know if you're up for it or not so I can work out how much to bring. Hopefully this will be a great time to introduce ourselves, have some decent chit-chat and relax before we hit the hills the next day. Firepits are available, but only during winter. They're happy to check the fire danger at the time and let us put one on if conditions allow. Saturday Entire day exploring the Adelaide hills, visit the motor museum, Chocolate Factory (afternoon tea), a couple of "Photo Op" (to make sure Evil doesn't boot me) places, a couple of dams, a Brewery (lunch), see some great roads, some other hidden gems Puff has in mind and hopefully get to spend some time with some SA forum members. Dinner Saturday at the best Mexican Restaurant I've found (I try to get to Adelaide every year or so just to get a meal here). If they let me down and the meal isn't up to the usual standards I'll be considering the whole cruise an abject failure. TBA As the Mexicans have decided to have an extended siesta instead of reopening their restaurant: Dinner Saturday will be at the German Arms Hotel in Hahndorf - right there in the hills we'll have been exploring all day. Back to the campsite after dinner to hopefully share some more stories around a firepit before retiring for the night. Sunday Limestone Coast, through Robe, Mt Gambier and spend the night in Warrnambool. Routes, activities and accommodation still to be finalised. I do have a few different routes and stops in mind and will probably discuss it Friday and Saturday night to gauge interest in the various options. Monday Back to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road (I shouldn't need to say any more on that leg ) It will mean a couple of days off work for most people - Fri/Mon for Vics, Mon/Tues for SA if some (hopefully) join us for the GOR leg and probably Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues if any NSW guys wanted to join in for the full trip and respective days for any others coming from different directions. RULES: 1. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc... 2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members. 3. Use the Buddy system - always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost. 4. CB Radios - if you don't have one, follow the maps and directions given out. It is highly recommended to have CB as it enhances the enjoyment of the cruise being able to hear about road hazards and join in on the social chatter. 5. Please turn up to the meeting points with a sufficient fuel in your tank and enough time before the departure time. 6. Onus is on the owner/driver to ensure their vehicle is safe to drive on public roads and meets State road traffic authority laws. 7. Please ensure you have a contingency plan if you have a breakdown or unnecessarily delayed. e.g. Roadside Assistance or a mate in another car who is willing to stay with you if necessary. 8. This cruise is not to be advertised on any other media or websites or social media sites without prior agreement from the cruise organisers. 9. By attending this cruise you agree not to hold FordXR6Turbo.com, it's Administrators, Moderators, Cruise Controllers, or Owner responsible / liable for any damage and / or grief sustained (simply; you are responsible for your own actions). 29. Noted and 250" wrist pins added to the list. Yep those forged pistons are bloody expensive, need my stocks (trading) to keep moving up this week and it could be a maybe? So just say I went forged, its a oversize/rebore needed, not a stock replacement? I guess it all depends on how the bores are, like I said will get it measured while its apart, but say they are true, may stay with the stocks pistons??? I wonder what the failure rate is of stocky's? These fellas at the shop were great no BS, just straight up info and they do alot of Ford Turbo's This site is awesome, thx fellas, I feel at home around here

  30. Mate thx alot, Was just looking at the spools then on fleabay. It has 69K on the motor, but I brought it at 49K and its had sfa hard driving whatsoever due to a sh*tbox reco slushbox I brought rebuilt. It lost shifting from 3-4, now I've lost all but 1 and R. So she only gets a drive around the block every month and a burnout when ford wins bathurst, lol. Its my baby and and I have spent over 5K replacing every bush with superpro and pedders adj height and dampener suspension. Put a King sway bar in the front as well. The car has sat in my garage under a cover for years, I know xr6's have come down, but I got it for a bargain and it has the ADR approved APS kit and everything is seriously like new. I'm going to ditch the auto, will be doing the boxswap when I pull out the motor for the rods. I will simply get it all done in the one hit, so at least the missus will finally shut up/ (She's a American, cough I mean Expensive Daewoo supporter you see lol) I have a mal woods fully rebuilt t-56 all ready to go, with a triple plate carbon clutch, 4 pot brembo's and the bigger rear disc's to also bolt on. Going to do the duel zone at the same time, have all the parts like I said. Its a silhouette with the luxury pack. So far I've done the mirror temp sensor, because I was sick for a year, but have been bouncing back strong of late so about to get stuck back into all my projects. So atomic oil pump gears and chain, headstuds, hone and gasket. This is what I'm talking about! And of course I will get the block checked in the process. Below is a vid when the sludgebox worked, tyres get expensive! Cheers!! xr6t.mkv

  34. It's said that about 120 cars that are yet to turn up at all, odds of even half of those appearing in the next 3 weeks are slim! More track time for the rest of us subsidised by them (no refunds!), though I lament the likely reduction in variety, not to mention cars that are slower than mine hahaha. I'll need a power boost just to keep up appearances! Still won't be enough to save me from getting smashed by this thing though I suspect. Keen to see it run the strip - and this is what I really love about Racewars, random combos amongst exotics, race cars and daily drivers. The Evo opposite me is the same guy I bought my rims from, nice coincidence on scrutineering day.

  37. If you are worried about damaging the paint, You can do it without a machine, but you'd want to have some solid arms on you, and a lot of time haha I personally wouldn't recommend many people using a proper buffing machine without knowing how, seen way too many people ruin paint jobs.
