  2. Yes E content fuels provide a greater power generation capacity as the E content is a slower burning alcohol so the burn cycle can be started earlier ( advance the timing ) even when octane points are identical 95 vs E10 95 E10 95 is very on par with 98 gasoline power output wise

  8. I think you need to squeeze in on the ECU sticker "JETURBO FOR BEING JETURBO" just seems fitting hahaha, looking good Marcus BTR oil needs to opperate normally at 85-95* and can safely fluctuate up to 130* Celsius under stall/hard work conditions but you want your coolers to drag down high temps quickly for when they do rise on thrash conditions A Hi stall converter can produce 10* of heat for every 2 seconds "on stall" with a big torque production engine

  11. daymmm running that power with no surge. def need a surge, then go reg and rail. you dont need 2 o44s running off a surge. can he get away with a bigger single? that's what ive done. whos tuning it out of curiosity? this ^^^

  13. I agree with K31th. Give Kevin at PW a call as he is a top bloke and very approachable. I am sure he will help you out.

  17. the only reason I am no longer keen on boost solenoid 'maintenance' is the spray could degrade the rubber diaphragm in the wastegate actuator. also in my opinion if it makes a difference then it's time to replace the solenoid. did that in my old xr6t and it was like the thing was just lubed but all the time. oh yeah

  19. I've had a different experience tuning with 95 vs 98. Granted it was with a different engine but it had a very similar compression ratio (8.4:1 iirc), slightly higher dynamic compression (180 psi) and ran a gt35r, a 0.82 rear housing and a large external gate. 3 octane points was not insignificant and allowed for 20% more timing. If you see little to no gain using 98 over 95 then I suspect your car has been tuned for 95 or runs a super safe 98 tune that pulls timing regularly when run on less than 98. This is often the case when you pay for a tune. No sensible tuner wants a car at the ragged edge. Go look at jets tuning thread to see how he felt about taking a stock motor over 500rwkw despite his ability to control knock and fuel. Yes that example is timing vs mechanical but you get the drift. Baring faulty parts a misfire at idle is caused from either; running lean, a too small/insufficient plug gap, incorrect cam timing at idle or too much ignition timing at idle. Bad fuel will cause a misfire at idle too but that seems highly unlikely in your case. Oh I almost forgot, water out of suspension can create intermittent misfires. Fwiw I could run as lean as 15:1 at idle with about 7 degrees btdc but needed 13.7:1 to run 15-20 degrees btdc without misfiring in my other car. I tune my ford to the limits of 98 and would not consider using 95 unless 98 was not available. Sorry for the novel fellas but hey, it might come in handy for someone one day.

  20. Spraying boost solenoid does absolutely jack. WD40 can't get to the solenoid as it's a normally closed solenoid so any spray will just sit up against the wastegate actuator diaphragm and when the solenoid opens it just vents to atmosphere. I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk

  23. still surprises me that so called car guys think they are 'breaks'... give the boost solenoid a spray with wd40 as well. the bum dyno usually appreciates it.

  24. *brakes Project MU NS400's are my pick for a street car. Unfortunately you're about to find out opinions on brake pads are like arseholes. If it's not feeling as quick as it used to, check all the exhaust manifold/turbo mounting hardware is tight and there are no leaks. Check the intake piping for loose clamps/potential leaks. If you don't find anything you've probably just become used to the power.

  25. A bit of an update for the Rolls software. As some of you know I am the one helping Rolls in the background hunting through the assembler and finding new parameters and have just completed initial testing on a new feature for this software. I have been able to track down the independent control of the exhaust cam for the XR6 turbo and yes we have control There is a bunch of tables missing from the other products that I have found and have them in for the first release (TBA). An interesting one based on vehicle speed but currently a constant. So now the fun will begin. IH8TOADS pointed out we could do ghost cams and we have someone testing this as well. So higher overlap cams may be controllable at idle as well as removing the stuff Ford put in to reduce back pressure in the higher rev range due to the factory exhaust. I believe this is a first for us. We have been told it is not in other products.

  26. My best lap of the day (and probably the clearest lap I had - Blue XR6 I had to change lines for at the start of the lap (is one of the mates who came) and the XR8 that slowed me down from Lukey were the only traffic) Not quite what you expect to see at the entrance to the Southern Loop (Cape Barren Geese wandering across the road)

  27. I've put together what I would consider a minor tune for my ZF basically have tweaked the shift pressures slightly, adjusted the shift points and adjusted the 2nd to 1st downshift to avoid the annoying random downshifts when exiting round a bouts etc. I couldn't have the car on the stock zf tune now.
