  3. Definitely would NOT handle better. Heavier and longer engine. It probably is doable like everything, but you would need to spend an insane amount of money and you would still just have a mongrel.

  8. ^this spool make the 3.4 and is full balanced and spins to 10k happily and dont forget rips racing is the Rb30/32 master builder from NZ. Would be absolute stupidity to try an the barra into a GTR. costly and no gains to be had overall

  9. Pointless for the money and final result imo. Use that 40k to build the RB into a 800awkw monster and be pretty much untouchable on a track or drag

  10. Lol Rab's on fire! Biz, holiday looks lush, man! WMMFG: first morning waking up on the first day of break in my new house. Woke up, made myself some French toast and a coffee and sat down at the table just loving life. Sooooo much nicer not having to worry about other housemates again [emoji4]

  11. So I recently did my second track day at collie motorplex (WA) and the brakes are definitely the limiting factor when it comes to lap times imo. My fastest lap of the day was the very first one out which I think goes to show that they deteriorate shortly after heavy use, unless ofcourse I just get worse as the day goes on but I dont think so. After only about 3-4 laps they really start to lose effectiveness and there is a shuddering feel to them, but not through the steering wheel, and once I come in theres usually a fair amount of smoke coming off them. Im running 322mm dba T3 rotors with bendix ultimate pads on the front with PBR calipers and stock rears and ive taken the abs fuse out. After I came home and pulled the brakes apart I realised the right hand side front rotor had been skimming its outer edge on the caliper, and acually made pretty pretty heavy contact: I figure this may be due to the fact that they are std BA calipers on a larger than normal rotor (even through it wasnt making contact when initially installed) so I dug out some some FG calipers I bought ages ago but I couldnt use as they are completely seized and noticed that the pistons have different size recesses in them: (FG ones on the left and BA on the right) Not knowing much about the design of them but it seems like more contact area would be the way to go, I ordered new pistons and a seal kit off ebay all up for about 80$ for the FG calipers I think ill just rebuild them and hopefully they wont rub on the rotor. I guess my question is what can I do to improve the braking longevity without going all out and buying 4 pot bembos or something, as I cant really afford it at the moment, and still love to track it every now and again. Am I able to run larger rotors on the rear with a different caliper mounting bracket like I did in the front? and does anyone know what the largest size front rotor that can be run with the PBR caliper? Ive also seen that some of the FPV brake kits come with PBR rears which I cant tell if they are different from the std ones I have, as info about PBR products is apparently pretty hard to come by. Or maybe I just need better pads? I should also mention im running high temp racing brake fuid. Any suggestions would be muchly appreciated and just if anyones interested heres some front wheel action of the track. I did a best of 58.44 which was a .44 improvement over last time and this is what the car looks like (just wanna show off the pretty picture I took :P)

  12. Just have a look at how crap the ford design is. Turbo on the DS, Intake on the PS. Throttle body on the PS and piping on the DS. Lucky Nizpro got involved back in the day and sorted it out

  13. Could be why mine is sometimes very doughy after sitting off for a short while, say 20 minutes. The air in the pipes would have heated riiight up. Would probably need some really thick insulation to avoid a 20 minute heat soaking though? All because I don't want to get rid of the stock crossover look.

  14. I must admit that the pipes do tend to get very hot, and I've been wondering what the effects of that may be. I'm gonna look into a turbo side intake and weigh my options up. Thanks guys!

  15. Throttle relocation and turbo side intake... oh did I say that out aloud?

  16. The cooler is the main cost. So pipe work for which ever set up you decide to go with should be reasonably cheap, plus no need to retune if your gonna just enclose a pod. Hit flee bay and gum nut for BA/BF parts and ya might be lucky enough to find what your after. Good luck buddy

  17. I don't think he has a recirculating valve there puffin. Turbo side intake and battery relocation for maximum choo choo!!! Or just put a pod filter on it. You'll get sick of the doughyness of it from sucking hot air but. Plus your pipes look like 2.5 inch but I could be wrong.

  18. Thanks for the response Puff I haven't measured the piping yet, but I think just by looking at it, it will be roughly 3-3.5 inch from the intercooler, as well as from the turbo. At the end of the day, this car has had a lot of $ spent on it and I dont think I'll be changing too much, but as I said I do want a little more turbo chatter from it. What would be the best way to achieve this? @Box Lol! its all about the girth mate. You can throw a sausage down a hallway, but if it doesnt touch the sides then its not good for anything, no matter how long it is!

  21. $98 Lenovo tablet $20 elm327 obd2 Bluetooth dongle $5.50 Torque pro app from play store. I went this way cause fixed gauges installed was cost prohibitive. This way I get access to just about any sensor and a scan tool. Only thing I can't find on there is oil pressure which I want. Autometer cobalt would be my pick for fixed gauges if I was cashed up.

  23. For general use, oil pressure and engine coolant temperature would be my pick. I've heard that Autometer has some of the best quality.

  25. I've had the same wideband setup (Lc-1) for about 6 years now on various cars and currently 20 months on my Ford. The only issues I've had sensor wise was the O2 sensor dying when it got doused in e85 during a fuel related failure. This wasn't on the Ford though. My gauge cups melted last summer but when the car gets to nearly 80c you'd expect some things to melt. I bought some stuff from ebay and installed it myself. It did need a little filing to make it fit properly. I think the kit I bought was around the $200 mark and came with the dash infill, gauge cups and a boost and oil pressure gauges and sender. The boost gauge seems to work fine and I can't comment on the oil pressure sensor as I've been too lazy to wire it up as yet.

  27. To add to the thread, there is a 3.4 stroker kit available for the rb motors that is only a few hundred cc shy of the 3.7 stroker available for the ford. Money and common sense aside, that's just a few days r&r with the build and tune in there too.

  29. doable? yes! waste of time? absolutely! expensive? highly!... Its not feasible as the attesa system is complex and would need a heavily modified sump at the very least to even try and get it to work, The pick up in the sump would also have to modified as well as alot of engineering to get it aligned etc etc etc. You would need at least 10k just on organising that before you could start modifying the motor directly. Its heavier and is of no gain what so ever in a GTR platform over the 26 or even 30/26. Its also a bit longer and taller which aren't huge issues. if you want displacement get a rb30 for $100 buck and spend 10k forging the bottom end/balancing the crank and sticking a 25 or 26 head on with a big single will make 1000hp+ all day every day yeah no issues in a rwd just like any other swap, would require cable mod or wiring to electronic throttle, but far easier for a gts but then again a 30 block will make power as easy and bolts up no issues
