Whats the diff between manual to auto mph at the drags ?? It seems some say manuals show a big differance and others say its same

I thought MPH was power and weight related,

Had a good read through the manual drag times and its all over the place in regards to power and mph, looking for a calc or a "good" guide line

Cheers

Isn't the calc most of the drag calculators using:

MPH = 224(hp/weight)^1/3

Which by my calculations means a stockish XR6T (assuming with driver about 1850kg) should run in about 98-99mph..

Which is bang on where my manual ute stock was running..

Edit: weight needs to be converted to pounds.

Edit 2: did some more reading on that formula and it was derived using values determined from an accelerometer what the hp at the clutch is.. Assuming that means flywheel..

My ute stock ran 101mph, then with 60-70kw more ran 111.

Same mph brad was running in his manual sedan with same power.

It's when they have 400-600kw that they all seem the same.

106 was my top trap speed "stock" (air filter and f6 intake) on BFII ZF.. 105 on my 13.59 PB. Add 110 odd rwkw and got 120mph.

I looked into this a while ago, as I have 360rwkw and have a best mph of 112mph. Still can't work out what's going on, I have taken it back to tuner and removed all tourque limits. Haven't gone back to the drags since but doubt it will make a difference as the car doesn't feel much better on gear changes.

I would say my car should run close to 120mph in manual.
