surely there's a hire shop closer than 1.5 hours drive...

anyway, if that's the case... I've used a manual one once, and never again!

It's 38 minutes each way to Kennards hire according to google. The closest major town to me is 30 minutes away. The joys of living in a rural area.

The ground is ok to dig at the moment cos it's been raining on and off but when it's dry the ground is hard as fark. I don't mind working but there is a line that I draw when small jobs get drawn out all day.

I might have to think about it a bit but my fence wont put itself up.

Bunnings hire tools here - not sure if they have post diggers through.

Alternatively - look for a local tradie with one who'll do it for a slab on his way home from work.

I called Bunnings and they don't hire them.

Looking at gumtree ads for tradies, people are asking $75 per hour on top of equipment hire and again the issue of being so far out just adds cost. I'd be paying someone $100 just to turn up before they did any work.

Fark it, I'll get the petrol one cos the cost isn't excessive (though more than I'd like) and it will be handy when I have to dig a lot more holes later. I've got 8 metres of fence to put up today and 34 metres down the track.

Haven't you got a backpackers across the road full of '457 min wage fruit pickers?

Buy 2 pole shovels and offer them $2 a hole dug
