About SHMIKO_S14A

  1. Thanks mate
  2. The car does it intermittently, only 1% of the time so I don't think it's a vacuum leak. Is there a possibility that the drive by wire system is faulty or that there is something Erin with the ecu? I'm 99% sure that it's an electronic issue not mechanical.
  3. Thanks mate, appreciate the info. So it's pretty much a bolt in job but I'll have to get a prop shaft from the M86 setup to line up with the new diff? If I am doing the whole diff in the cradle with the driveshafts, hubs, rotors, calipers etc, I'm assuming it shouldn't matter about the CV flange because it's all M86 stuff.
  4. Hey guys, gonna describe this issue as best as I can. I've got a Barra 240t BTR auto in BA XT. Car is sometimes giving itself throttle without any throttle input. I know these cars have drive by wire throttle, could it be an issue with this? For example if I'm cruising along in drive the car starts speeding up by itself, if I put it into neutral the revs start climbing up and then generally fall back to normal idle after a few seconds. I know the auto trans has some issues and I am waiting for some cash to give it a full rebuild, wondering whether something in the auto trans is doing this? Cheers in advance.
  5. Hey guys, looking at putting a complete M86 cradle into my BA XT auto sedan preferably with a 3.73 ratio. How much work is involved and which models of falcon cradles will bolt in? I've got my eyes on a BF 3.73 at the moment from a 6 speed manual, will this be an easy enough installation? Also, the one I'm looking at seems to have vented rear rotors, I thought the BA/BF all had solid rear disks. Any ideas on that? Cheers guys.
  6. The car is running normally again now, the only other thing I touched when I was working on the car was the plug for the throttle body motor. I unplugged it, cleaned it out and plugged it back in and seems to have sorted it. At least temporarily anyway. I did a small amount of degreasing aswell so maybe some degreaser got into something and dried out. Cheers guys.
  7. Hi guys, So I reconnected my factory boost control solenoid today because it was disconnected/bypassed due to the tuner deciding to run a hose directly between the compressor housing and the wastegate actuator. To do this I had to remove the battery in order to get to it. After everything was back together I started the car up and it wasnt idling smoothly, then the car started idling at about 2000 - 2500rpm before almost stalling. I took the car for a drive and it was going ok once it was under load. I brought it back home and let it cool down for a couple of hours, then started it again and the car felt like it was running on three cylinders, super rough idle and the engine check light came on. Any ideas on what this could be?
  8. What are your details mate so I can get in contact with you? Able to PM me?
  9. Thanks for the reply mate. I might have to enlist your tuning services when it comes to getting the final tune done on my car when she's complete. I've heard good things. Hoping to crack 300kw, have done walbro 255, 60lb dekas, xforce 4 inch dump to 3.5 fatback with 100 cell, PWR fmic and need to do valve springs next. Would anything else be needed to get there besides a strong transmission which mine will soon have?
  10. Hey guys, the boost solenoid is currently bypassed on my BA XR6T motor (straight out of compressor housing and into stock wastegate actuator). It was done by the previous tuner for some reason. What are the consequences of this and should I reconnect the solenoid? Can this cause boost spikes and additional lag by not having the solenoid hooked up and running purely on wastegate spring pressure? Cheers in advance.
  11. I'm possibly aiming for the car to do some drag work in the future and like I mentioned I'm hoping for up to 350kw, would this be better and less of a headf*ck than fitting an M86 lsd? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/361770795657 Any guys running this setup in either an M78 or M86?
  12. Hey guys, I'm new to the falcon world so be patient with me lol. I just purchased a BA XT with a barra 240t in it. It has the standard 4 speed auto that came with the XR6T motor but has an open wheel diff which would be the original XT diff. My question is what types of LSD diffs fit into a BA XT running a barra conversion with the 4 speed auto. I'm assuming it's safe to say I could bolt a BA (maybe BF/FG too) XR6T/XR8 LSD straight into it? Correct me if I'm wrong. What would be the best cost effective option to get it spinning both wheels. I'm eventually going to be aiming for around the 300 - 350rwkw mark. Cheers in advance.
