  1. Well it shat itself yesterday. Got it fixed for $380 locally. Better than paying for a new column I guess.
  2. Hi All, My ute has recently been not starting every time. I narrowed it down to the Barrel I think. It seems that sometimes when I start the ute the key springs back to the OFF position and doesn't stay turned. If I hold the key when I start it, it stays on but if I just start as normal and let go of the key it springs back to the OFF position. The ute runs fine and hasn't switched off when I have been driving (Thank God), just when starting. Anyone had this issue and know of a fix? TIA
  3. Not too sure, it had the wastegate etc done before I took it in so I dont think he did a full blown power run first. I didnt ask. I can definately tell the difference in power though. I dug up my old dyno sheets from my old BA and it has the same power as it except way less boost. I had a dyno run on my old one at elite in Btisbane with a generic capa edit tune and similar mods but it was running more boost. that's exactly what the tuner said. Around 300.
  4. I told him I wasn't chasing every last KW and wanted it to be "safe" so he was making sure I didn't have any issues I guess? He said about 10-12lbs after some springs and injectors would be what he would expect and a heap more power. Being a ute I said I didnt want the tail end to be too loose too lol, may have had something to do with the lower boost, not sure. 225rwkw at 7lbs is a decent result isnt it?
  5. Tune is done and it made 300rwhp or 225rwkw on low boost (7lbs). My tuner said the valve springs were floating at higher boost so he dialled it back. I am happy with the results and the way the ute pulls now. It definitely feels nice all through the rev range and goes hard enough for now. I may look at injectors/springs in the future.
  6. Tune booked and happening tomorrow. Cant wait. I will post the results.
  7. Im in Lismore NSW. Total Mechanical are doing the tune. For some reason, no matter how many times I change my location on my profile it always goes back to "Brizzy"
  8. Fitted the Venom delete and CAI, only the tune left now. The venom pipes sound great, not too loud and aounds good at idle and under load. Video of Idle and BOV (Not accelerating hard until tune done) BOV is screwed about half way out. 20180622_134628.mp4 20180622_141009_001.mp4
  9. Had the wastegate fitted today and also upgraded the turbo oil line and filter to an Intune braided setup. Installed a BOV on the weekend. CAI has arrived and also a Venom Centre muffler delete which I am fitting this weekend. Booked in for a tune next week.
  10. Im not really chasing a heap of power, more so just a bit more pull. I could just have my tuner give me enough to still have the injectors not running out of fuel and the valve springs not being an issue cant I? Im not really worried about getting as much power as I can with the mods I have, more so a tune to make sure eveything is looking all good, any increase to what I have is a bonus.
  11. Safe meaning good AFR's as apposed to running a generic Capa tune etc. Also safe as in not running at its limit or with too much boost.
  12. The plan was something like 230-240rwkw. Just enough to give a bit of a rush without going silly and potentially having clutch or GB issues. I would be stoked with that figure and still being safe, engine/driveline wise.
  13. Picked up a 2003 XR6T ute on Friday. It has a sticky wastegate so I have decided to fit a few parts and have it tuned to be safe. It already has a K&N and I am doing the following. 7lb Turbosmart wastegate actuator F6 CAI Braided Turbo oil lines Centre Muffler removal Kompact Dual Port BOV Dyno tune. (Factory ECU tune) What sort of "Ultra Safe" Kw's would you think I could be looking at if I am looking to not wear out Clutch/5spd or break anything? The ute has 173kms and is in really good shape. Also, removal of the Centre muffler on a ute, will this make a decent note without being drony or too loud?
